I ordered this phone on saturday - Three are a waste of space! Delivery was due any time today - the 20th of March, I recieved emails confirming this, then at three oclock today I recieved an email from three saying "sorry this is not in stock, you cant have it, do you want a nokia 6233r instead?" (paraphrased!) One of the reasons I decided on this phone was because it was possible to run TOMTOM software on it, I have also just purchased a 2gig mini SD card, which, suprise suprise, doesnt work with the 6233r (micro sd!). The N80r was available online long after I clicked and made the order - therefore there must have been a lot of dissatisfied people out there. How can it take them from saturday until today to email me to tell me it is not in stock? The fact that it was supposed to actually be delivered today makes it even worse as surely if they actually had it surely it would have been sent out yesterday!?
I am not a very happy bunny

Same here, I ordered mine Saturday morning, got the confirmation and yesterday another e mail confirming dispatch and having waited home all day today received an e mail at 2.50 pm saying "Unfortunately, we are currently out of stock of this handset and are unable to provide the N80r as ordered. We can however offer the same great tariff with either the Nokia 6233R or Sony Ericsson K610iR in either white or grey. You can view these handsets on our website: three.co.uk "
I phoned them back and cancelled, now looking at deals on e2save and OSPS, cant get 750 minutes for anything near £17.50, but having read horror stories about "3" maybe its a narrow escape? well P....d off.....

Jeff, I feel your pain, I sent back an email but I think its one of those unmonitored accounts - cs@three.co.uk - although 'cs' implies customer service! I doubt I will get any, Im going to leave it till tomorrow and if I have no reply I am going to ring up and give them a piece of my mind - with the 100quid back through quidco it worked out at 12quid a month - a bargain (if it actually really existed!!!). Im really annoyed, how can they keep advertising something for sale and then on the day of delivery say - sorry mate, we dont have it - I doubt they would be too willing to refund the dosh for my missed days work due to their poor system.

drpau, good luck when you phone 3, I feel that I was too hasty to phone and cancel and might have been in a position to negotiate a deal on a better model of phone before cancelling, i.e. threatening to cancel if they didn't do something to save the contract. Having read many posts it seems that 3 are desperate to retain customers so you might be in a good position to negotiate a good deal for yourself on another model of phone. I cant find any deal with the other networks that come anywhere close to the deal "I had", but was so damned angry at them at the time that I didn't want anymore to do with what seems like a bunch of incompetent fools, that and the disappointment and frustration of taking a days holiday in vein waiting at home for the delivery...Good luck, let us know how you get on.
    Cheers Jeff
  • Same here, ordered early Sunday morning and got that email this evening, the thing that annoyed me most is I asked three customer services if the phone was in stock right before I bought it and they said yes! Phoned to speak to a supervisor but was told "they wont be able to do anything as we physically don't have any". VERY annoyed!

Hi guys, there are a couple of things that i have seen from your posts:

    1. I posted this information on friday if i remember correctly, and it was posted under quick grabbit while you can. i bought 2 and they came the next day.

    2. I posted this so that i could get some £30 credit's onto my bills as well as your's, so it just shows how unappreciative people are. I had the decency to tell you all of the offer, but no one wanted to return the favour by accepting the recommend a friend thing.

I am not being bitter, but I just had to let my sentiments known.
  • Who's being unappreciative? People are just annoyed that they were able to order the phone and then told a few days later that it was out of stock, nobody is having a pop at you.
RE: the recommend a friend thing, your sounding as if you only posted this offer to get some free credit on your phone. I'm sure it didn't take the greatest effort on your part, thanks for taking the time but pehaps people actually do have friends to recommend.

I only noticed your post after I ordered the phone and was quite annoyed with myself for not checking out MSE before hand when I noticed the tip about contacting live chat and possibly getting a handsfree unit from 3.
The only reason I looked on the site is because after ordering I had serious doubts about 3 due to my last run in with them 3 years ago.
I have always thanked anyone for any post that I have used and benefited from so dont be so quick to assume that I am replying now because of your post, I spotted drpau's message and was in fact replying to it. To be honest I wish that I had seen your post on Friday and yes I agree that the right thing to do is thank someone for any helpful info, but on this occasion you have got your wires crossed.

ok fair enough, about having your own friends that you recommend, but did your friends tell you about the deal? NO, i did. for this reason, you should have recommended me.

and the £30 credit was not the only reason for posting the info. it was a bonus, which no one really took.

that is why i'm saying people are being unappreciative.

anyway, let's try and keep it regarding the subject, the deal is out of stock, so mods, please move it to the relevant board.
