It is 119 because the 5th number is 5 more than the first number, so 5 more than th 8th number is 119. The sequence can then begin again.

    Answer is 126

First two numbers in each set of three goes up i.e.

10... 11... 12... THEN the last two numbers in each set of three numbers goes 06,07,08,09 miss one, 11,12,13,14 miss one, 16 - add the final number 6 in that sequence to the number 12 and you get 126.

Can't think of any charm about it though!

Answer is 116, the sequence is losing tombola tickets!

Edit: clearly I missed the clue 'it's not 116 or 117'!

    -1

    1+ 1+0+6 = 8
    2+ 1+0+7 = 10
    3+ 1+0+8 = 12
    4+ 1+0+9 = 14
    5+ 1+1+1 = 8
    6+ 1+1+2 = 10
    7+ 1+1+3 = 12
    8+ 1+1+4 = 14
    9+ -1 = 8
