Martin’s champagne brain teaser

I'm going to have another guess as there doesn't seem to be a limit on guesses and my other answer was clearly wrong
I'd say 121 as if you add up 106, 107, 108 and 109 they come to 7, 8, 9 and 10 and if you add up 111, 112, 113 and 114 they come to 3, 4, 5 and 6 so if you use the sequence 121, 122 and 123 and 124 as the next set of numbers they all add up to 4, 5, 6 and 7 which are sequential numbers.
I'm stumped on this one and I hate maths but like champagne!0 -
The answer is 119 - The value from 109 to 114 is 5. So the value from 114 to 119 is also 5.MSE_Martin wrote: »Martin’s champagne brain teaser
What’s the next number in the sequence & why? 106, 107,108,109,111,112,113,114… (clue, it's not 116 or 117). First correct answer with explanation posted here gets a bottle of champagne.
NOTE: As with many sequences there is more than one answer, but I'm looking for a specific one. As a clue, the answer has charm, it's not the obvious “four numbers in a row then miss one” type answer.
Good luck

I think the in next sequence may be 124, as the 1st 4 added are 7 , 8,9 10 then 3,4,5,6 if you then return to 7, 8 , 9 , 10
124 would add up to 7 and the next 3 would be 125 126 127.0 -
116 because as 110 is divisible by ther next one divisible by 5 is 115 so miss it out.0

i think the next number in the sequence is 3, 3 is the number with charm0

The next number is 115
The numbers in the sequence are base-9, not the usual decimal system.
The second column is the sequence converted to decimal.
106 87
107 88
108 89
109 90
111 91
112 92
113 93
114 94
115 950 -
116
106, 107, 108, 109, 111, 112, 113, 114.
The way i worked it out is that there is a pattern which runs as follows:
106, 107, 108, 109 (4 consecutive numbers with the fifth (110) missing) 111, 112, 113, 114 (4 consecutive numbers with the fifth (115) missing) which would mean the next number would be 116 followed by 117, 118, 119 etc etc
Worth a try but haven't read the other posts so have probably been pipped at the post or am very wrong!!!!! Was fun trying though!:j0 -
The answer is not 116 or 117, Martin gave us that clue at the top of the thread.
If it's any consolation my answer's wrong too!0 -
I think the answer is 101. It's about the individual numbers adding up in sequence?0
