Just got accepted with a £250 limit, I have £300 with Cap 1 so its good news!

Got £250 offered so not sure now whether want to proceed further with an application.

Has anyone of existing customers have ever tried to increase the limit and how long does it takes until you can apply for an increase?

    Why not?
Even if you spend say £200 each month (keeping £50 as a buffer) you still make £72 each year tax free!!
On the other hand if you can keep an eagle eye on your spending and immediately repay the card to bring it back to zero, you can make another spend in the same month to the credit limit thus earning more cashback. So technically you can spend £250 on day 1 and repay it the same day and spend £250 on day 2 and so on till you reach approx £3350 which earns you £100.5 cashback. You will then be eligible to get the max £100 cashback/year.

There isn't a page when applying to untick for payment protection is there? I was applying an was reading everything as usual but this has only just come into my head!

I was asked about payment protection I'm sure, but don't know whether I ignored it or had to untick it. I do remember when the card agreement came through the post there was lots of X's through the "Insurance" part, so whatever I did, it was correct.

If you accidentally agreed to insurance, just cross out that part when you get the agreement. It requires a seperate signature anyway, so no need to worry!

I've just applied and got a message that they will be in touch in 10 days. Maybe it's because the system did not recognise my address, and I had to enter it manually.

I really want to get my hand on this one for the 3% cashback. I hope that the fact that I pay off my card balances each month wont go against me, though I fear it might.

Agreement came in the post yesterday, signed and returned. I don't know what my limit is yet. Can't wait to start earning cashback on this one.:)

I believe I'm in the same position as Maestro, I've had a Capital One Secured Card since January and paid it off in full each month. As such I've checked and my credit report is filled with all green to this point so I have a limited credit history but everything is being paid on time. Do you think there is any chance of acceptance or are they looking for people with a better credit history?

Thank you for your recent application for an aqua Credit Card. We're pleased to offer you a credit card with an estimated credit limit of £1600.

Incidentally, I left the 'houshold income' box blank (didn't want to appear too wealthy!).

Lenders can't see who your accounts are with. All they can see is the fact that it's a credit card account.
Not true, when I was applying for mbna the guy on the phone said "why did you open your halifax account" "why haven't you paid your Lloyds credit card" etc.

Strange, as Experian quite clearly state on there website:
The credit report you see is more comprehensive than the one lenders look at (with your permission of course) because only you see the actual names of your current and past lenders. You also see a record of all the searches of your report, regardless of the reason, whereas lenders usually only see searches carried out for credit-granting purposes

In regards to the PPI question, I received the form to sign and return and there is a box on the form about it, I wrote in there "Do not want" and did not tick the box.
