They simply don't work that fast - you've done the right thing, sent in the docs registered mail - now you can relax. If they need something else, they will contact you. Otherwise give them a couple of weeks at least!

Hi, I also got this letter on may 18th. They received the documents on may 30th (i checked online tracker) and have still not heard anything. So I wouldn't expect to hear anything in a week. I do understand it is stressful, as I was worried too, particularly as my statements are online downloads rather than through the post ones, but I assume if they needed anything else, I would have at least heard that by now. Try not to worry :)

  • Believe me a week is nothing with a government dept! They probably haven't even date stamped it yet. When I sent off my dla renewal I waited 14 weeks for a decision. Try not to worry if you haven't heard a month after the date you sent it to them I would give them a quick ring to put your mind at rest :)

They send everything second class so it'd take about a week even if they reply immediately!

What did you mean by "My estimated income was 3500 less than what i had estimated.... does anyone know what will happen about that too????"

What was your income in 2010/11? What and when did you estimate for 2011/12? What was your actual income 2011/12?

my income in 2010/2011 was estimated at 14000 and was 9000 and something and i got 2500 one off payment when i renewed last april...and this year it was estimated at 9800 and something and was 5997... i work in domicillary care so the hours fluctuate all the time we are contracted to zero hours as we arent guaranteed hours... hope this makes sense lol :)
  • Hi,

I got the letter from Belfast as well.
I dont recall it asking for payslips....

I asked my Childcare company for a contract as I didn't seem to have one and for a statement from them on headed paper showing the charges and payments for the year 2011/12.

I sent this off and phoned after a week to ask if they had received it.
It had not been received but there had been the Jubilee long weekend.
I told her what I had sent and she told me that was not acceptable.
I must send bank statements showing the payments that I made.
I dont have a printer and I'm paperless with my bank.
The bank will send me statements for 2011/12 but it may take up to 10 working days!

The lady in Belfast said if I didn't send what she needed by the end of the month, my money will be stopped!

It does give you the hebbie jebbies :-) but I'm sure if will all end well.

I must check about the payslips on the letter.

    Cheers

    Amanda
