Hi, I was asked for all child care receipts for the last financial year and bank statements. They did not ask for anything else. I've still heard nothing.

i received a unknown phone call today so i phone the tax credits helpline as the belfast office was shut just to check if it was them and it was.. they said they were dealing with my claim and wanted to talk to me about my p60 not sure why tho. i think everything else was ok as nothing else was mentioned and the lady was helpful who i spoke to... have to phone belfast in the morning to sort it out... hope its nearly complete cos its making me ill i cant sleep properly for worry not knowing about my money... anyone else had to phone them regarding their p60s if so what was it for??? thanks...

Ive had a letter today asking for information 1st January - 5th April 2012 for the following

Annual declaration
P60
Payslips
Child benefit entitlement
Childcare contract
Childcare receipts
Bank statements
Mortgage statement
Council tax bill
Gas/electric/water/telephone bills - ive only sent the last one for each of those
Sky contract
TV Licence
Home insurance

I rang and asked why I had to send so much information in and the girl said it was to prove that I am whom I am and claiming for the right number of children and am getting the correct money, as so many bogus claims had been made. My renewal will be backdated til April so, she also said it could take til end July for it to be sorted, so may take another 5-6 weeks, so I am sending information recorded delivery, I have nothing to worry about just have to wait for claim to be sorted.

Some of those are just silly. Child benefit entitlement?? HMRC adminster child benefit !!!!!!! Or is there some stupid rule saying one bit of HMRC isn't allowed to ask the other bit for information even if it is to check claims? Same for the P60, HMRC should have all those details from the employer.

As for Sky contract, how do they know you have Sky?

They know everything once they have looked at your credit file.

Experian lists on mine all my financial agreements. So bank loans car finance,mortgages, sky, mobile bill, they even know who or money is owed to like catalogues etc.

They can even see if anyone is linked financially etc.

They have selected many cases this year for some small checks and a further amount of cases for more thorough checks.

i phoned and spoke to a lovely man yesterday morning he said my claim is finally done he just had to take my 30 hour a week element off me for last year everything else was fine.... just waiting for paper work now. i will have a small over payment to pay back but nothing to worry about he said... i felt like a weight had been lifted off me ...im so glad its over with for another year ..

The child benefit proves I have the two children I am claiming for, I know they should be able to check it and also the p60, maybe this is easier having everything sent together. I rang and the woman said to provide as much as possible its just to help prove I am saying who I am, I know they wouldnt probably know I have Sky bu I have sent as much as I can and hopefully my renewal will not take much longer

I guess mine was a more thorough check, had to send them allsorts of paperwork

From when sending all the information recorded delivery how long did it take to sort your renewal? I Did you send them much information, I had to send allsorts of paperwork for Jan-April 2012. I am hoping its sorted quickly with no hitches, Ive always been honest with my claim so fingers crossed its nearly done.

It's a bit like your employer asking for copies of your payslip to prove who you are :rotfl:
