Reserved one at Grantham yesterday and when I went to collect they said they had sold out!! SA spent about 15 minutes checking different bits on the computer - trying to look good and no stock, doesn't even recognise my reservation number!! Asked to speak to a manager - oh she's just gone to a meeting. Asked can you get one transferred from another Branch to one nearer to me - reply can't get access to their systems - load of old crap.
Stevenage was showing 800+ which is 200+ miles from me and another SA said she had phoned the other store who had told her no stock yet the other SA said one was on display. Something very suss but as I suffer with back probs I couldn't stand around any longer so I will be writing to Currys about their appalling reservation system.

This is nothing new, I'm afraid. I phoned ahead to make sure my two were in stock (one for me, one for my mother). The chap I spoke to went off to ask someone where the stock was. I heard the other chap telling the chap who still had me on the phone about all the members of staff who had had one (or more). Then the chap came back on the line to me and said that they'd sold out. I then told him I'd just heard every word that other bloke said about staff having them. He tried to say that staff had had them before I placed my reservation. I countered this with the fact that I'd also heard the other chap tell my chap that so and so had two put back and she'd pay for them at the end of her shift that same day. I made my reservation the day before, so she obviously hadn't bought hers before I'd reserved mine. Eventually, I had to ring CS who contacted the store. The store came up with some of the most amazing bull imaginable, even the CS representative didn't believe them. In the end, the CS told me to go pick up my vacuums. The store was not happy when they handed over my goods. Due to the attitude of the member of staff who handed me my items, I said "You tried hard, but I won in the end". I then walked out, one vacuum under each arm.

By the way, it's very easy to check other stores' stock - Eclipse allows you to do this by inputting the store code, then searching through the stock for that particular store. Eclipse is used by all stores in the DSG, so Currys can check stock in PC World, for example.
