Hello,

I thought I would start a new diary as, as of today I have paid off my credit card!!!!!:T:j So both my loan and my credit card have been paid off so I'm technically debt free, well ish apart from the £100 ish OD

I know this is on the debt free diaries board but I really hope you'l let me stay on here, as I really need the support and encouragement. For those of you that don't know me, I am 30, married to a (most of the time) lovely husband who works away 3 on 3 off, and I have a 7 month old beautiful son (affectionally nicknamed Roo) who is my world :) I have recently given up work to be a stay at home mum as going back to work what with childcare and diesel etc, it really didnt add up.

I have a few goals that I really would like to meet.

I currently need to lose a stone, and my friend gave me a voucher to join weight watchers for a month for £10 , I've set myself a goal of 2 months to lose the weight so in total it should only cost me £30 as when you get down to your goal you dont have to pay, so quite a big incentive really. I joined on wednesday of last week, so hopefully I will see a loss next week, I have been really good and stuck to my points.

I have been studying for a degree with the open university for the last couple of years, but I have had a break due to Roo coming along. I would like to start another module in October November time, but consequently I need to find £700!!! I'm going to speak to OH and see if I can use our clubcard vouchers, think we have about £80 in them, I also have loads of clothes and bits to sell on ebay that I really need to get around to doing, so again a good incentive.

Another goal is to try and keep the house in a reasonable state. I find that having a baby who is weaning is a nightmare in the cleaning stakes, I seem to constantly be making food and whizzing it up for him and then cleaning it up from all the surfaces where it has been haphazardly thrown by little hands! I never seem to stop cleaning, as he's rolling around and almost crawling, we have a fair size house and everything just looks a mess all of the time, I seem to spend most of my time keeping the baby entertained so I really need to get into a routine!

OH currently gives me £50 a month spending money, this is just for whatever, its not for petrol or shampoo or anything, but more for clothes or books etc, I would really like to save this up as much as possible so that I can buy nice things when i want them rather than just making do with cheap stuff all the time.

One of the major reasons for me getting back on here is I have really fallen off the wagon and my spending on food shopping has gone through the roof. I darent go through the food bills, but I think they would be close to £400 in a month!!!!!!! For two adults and a baby that is ridiculous. I'd like to get it down to half that.

I went to tesco today and as I'm weaning Roo at the moment I have to buy lots of fruit and veg, and due to my diet and being conscious of OH's health I am adding lots of fruit and veg to our daily meals, but goodness it comes at a cost.

I'm going to have a look through the internet this evening and see what I can come up with

So if you'll join me for my adventures in to domestic goddessness (not sure that is a word) I would love the company. And if you could offer me any advice or tips on how to reach my goals I would be eternally grateful.

Hope you're having a lovely friday evening, (I'm upstairs avoiding the football!)

Much love
Missy x

Ok come up with a few ideas to get me started.

I have got loads of fruit in the freezer, including: plums, tomatoes and blackberries, all from the garden last year, so I am going to make jam and chutney next week and sell some out the front, so that the money I make can go into a pot and be put towards my open university course.

To get the shopping down, I might join the grocery challenge, and have a look at what I'm spending each month. I'm also going to look at my supermarket.com and see where it is cheaper to shop as I can easily get to the 3 big named supermarkets once a week. I think I'll look into going to Aldi too for there Super 6 veg.

On the cleaning front, I used to do flylady before the baby came along, I might start that up again too, hmmm feeling really positive that I actually have these goals to work towards.

    Yay, you are here!!!!! :D

Congrats on clearing the debts :T

I've subscribed and your goals are perfect to inspire me right now as I am in a sorting myself out kinda mood - especially in the house and food areas. Obviously have my debts too.

Baked any nice cakes lately?? xx

yaaaay hello chocaddict, lovely to see you!!

Have made some scrumptious cheesecakes lately, and I made some dairy free chocolate cupcakes and chocolate dipped shortbread for my brothers girlfriend and they were suprisingly really nice!!

Am trying to stay away from the cakes at the moment though, due to the diet. Although I have just scoffed half a twirl, am just within my points today but if I do everyday like today I doubt I'll lose any weight. Must do better tomorrow, which wont be easy as we're having a fathers day bbq.... lots of salad me thinks.

Anyway how are you chocaddict hun, what have you been up to?

I need to lose a stone too so hopefully we can keep each other on track. Actually, probably not if you keep baking :rotfl:

On a debt busting mission now I feel able and my organisational skills have been non existent of late so that's another thing I want to tackle.

    Hi,

Nice to see you back with a new diary.

Glad things are going well. Well done on clearing the debt!

It is definately messy weaning a little one so feel your pain there. I think fly lady is a good idea, it makes you feel like it is all a bit more manageable.

Buying healthy foood for yourself and baby is also very expensive. I am always making her meals from scratch where as i am not always so good with our meals. Good luck with trying to get your bills down.

Anywya looking forward to seeing how you get on.

Helllooo had a really lovely bbq yesterday, really enjoyed ourselves, WW points went out of the window a little bit but I will say that was my 49 weekly points though, so am within my limits!

The house looks like a bomb has hit it though so need to tidy that. Am currently looking into our veg patch and how close to self sufficientcy in veg we can be.....

I'm sure all that planting and running around after people at BBQ would compensate for a few extra points ;) x

not had the best eating day today either as ended up in pizza express for OH's fathers day dinner, and haven't stopped eating since, but have just found out we are out friday for OH's best friends birthday, only to the pub. but only been out once before since having roo and haven't a clue what to wear, so have just been trying on clothes.... what do you wear on a friday night down the pub??? Any ideas? it's been so long since I've been out properly and last year I was pregnant so only had a limited wardrobe, so don't even have any idea what is fashionable now!!!

have tried on a few bits and think I might have it sorted.... need to lose another couple of lbs by friday though, so going to be good all week and actually do exercise and see how i look..... was looking at getting some new clothes but just cant afford it, so jeans, wedges adn a top it is!

Jeans, wedges and nice top sound perfect for an evening down at the pub.

I'm with you on the healthy eating and dieting lovely, will keep up the support so you reach those 2lbs - you'll do it! Day 1 of diet for me so any help kindly received. When doing it for the wedding it was easier as kept thinking of the day and dress, now I guess I could think of it that we'd like a family so the healthier I am the better our chances etc etc....must keep focused!

We had pizza express on Saturday lunch as a treat, first time we'd been out for a bite to eat since wedidng. I do love it there, although a tad annoyed as could have used vouchers i'm sure but it was a spontaneous trip therefore wasn't prepared

Hope you have a good Monday :)
