i would say a decent razor such as the venus - but make sure you use it with shaving gel.
i started shaving my legs etc around this age and had problems with using a razor. plus all razors now are safety ones i think

My girls are 13 and 11 and both use disposable razors without a problem. I did buy them a electric razor to try but they didn't like the shave it gave them and i can't face messing around with creams on them, would be never ending with 2 of them and myself and its so easy to miss a bit so they would end up shaving that missed bit anyway.

Myself and my daughter use an electric epilator. The head for removing underarm hair is very smooth and neither of us have ever felt any discomfort or had any reaction during or after use. It's great! Stings a bit when you use it on your legs but you don't get that 'stubbly' feeling a few days later, hair that grows back is very soft. Might be a solution? The one that I use was around £50 but I'm sure you can get them a lot cheaper if you scout around.:D

Can I ask which epilator you've got? I fancy trying one but am worried about the pain factor, I tried waxing once and won't be doing that again!

It's a Braun, had it for a couple of few years now. It is a bit like plucking your eyebrows pain-wise but I only have to do my legs every 6 weeks or so now and it's not that bad. Don't know if there's any truth in the rumours about waxing/epilating weakening the hair follicles but the hair on my legs does seem to grow back more sparesly and it's very fine.

It gives a lovely smooth finish ( sounds like a tin of varnish! lol) but I'd never go back to shaving or waxing, this thing's much easier, no mess and the effects last much longer. Well, on me they do! :p

Venus razors are so much better than the old ones with fixed heads. I've never gone back to creams since I bought mine. I tried an electric razor years ago but found they didn't give such a smooth finish.

Hi, I have been using my laser scanner now for about 4 months. I have now started to see good results but only recently...it just takes time. I got mine from a company called Essential Beauty Products they are selling them for £159.99 I havent seen them cheaper anywhere else and I'm great at finding a bargain lol. http://www.ebeautyproducts.co.uk/rio-scanning-laser-hair-remover-lahs---permanent-hair-removal-27-p.asp Hope this helps.

Not anymore - up to £164.99 now (despite being on several comparison sites at the above price), and also, it says delivery is £2, but it's actually 5.95, so it's a total of £170.94
  • Sorry it was £159 they must have put the price up. I think it still is the cheapest around. Not sure about the £2 postage thing though?????

Hi, I am about to go on holiday and am wondering if anyone knows of a warm wax that you can heat up without the use of MW or in a saucepan on a hob -ie under a hot tap?
I will wax before I go but sometimes find that waxing doesnt last the full length of the hols (esp underarms-and I HATE shaving them :(
If anyone has any bright ideas that would be great. The cold wax strips don't agree with my skin unfortunately otherwise would just bring them

I've had great results with Nad's hair removal gel, which is not like conventional waxes and made form natural ingredients - but actually performs far better in my opinion. I changed to Nad's after never quite getting it all off with regular wax strips. Anyway, Nad's gel is best used at body or room temperature and comes with reusable and washable strips.
