Excel Parking - HELP should I pay the ticket?

I have a better idea:
IGNORE Excel they are impersonation of authority scam artists and in future if you want any DIY products, use a store that does not have scammers operating in the car park like B+Q
I'd also ring the manager and tell him how much you spent in the other store and point out your friends and family will be boycotting his store too.0 -
Does any PPC actually provide any useful service whatsoever, to anyone but their own pockets. Answers on the back of a £5 note please.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
They provide a useful service to the DVLA whom makes millions selling off personal details.0

Some time in January I used an Excel parking ground (I didn't know at the time who Excel were and their awful reputation) whilst my friend called into a bank to pick up some cash. I purposely waited in the car so that I could dodge any traffic wardens.
Needless to say I then received the first of Excel's usual style threats. My friend has also encountered Excel before and so told me to ignore the 'fine' and the following threats, which I did! Today I got a call from a mobile number from a lady to whom I foolishly confirmed my name and address (Hindsight grrr!!), she then told me that she was calling on behalf of her client, Excel Parking, regarding my ticket. I panicked, told her that I do not have any outstanding tickets and neither am I owed PPI claimback and I also haven't had any accidents, and I hung up.
So, now I am wondering if I have jeopardised my long standing 'ignore' tactic, or do they still have no legal leg to stand on? Any advise would be appreciated, I am determined not to pay these conmen however if I have given the game away then should I reconsider?
Many thanks0 -
Still no legal leg to stand on. Just keep ignoringWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Even if you’ve written and told them who the driver was, it doesn’t make their actions any less unlawful. It just means that instead of unlawfully harassing the registered keeper, they can now unlawfully harass the driver. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

 Yikes!
You got a call, from a mobile number that you didn't know, and you told them your name and address?!
Regarding the numpties at Excel, ignore any of the junk mail they send you. In future though, remember that nobody from a legitimate organisation will ever call you and ask you to tell them your details. Please promise us you'll never, ever do that again, even if they claim to be the Pope. In fact, especially if they claim to be the Pope...0 -
Yikes indeed, Spikyone, she was a clever bird and she caught me quite unawares! Lesson learned :embarasse
I use my mobile phone for business use too and although I am generally very wary about confirming details, I just got the impression that she was calling from one of the business directories that I use for SEO type stuff (although she didn't actually say so) and I dunno, I guess I fell for her trickery! They really are cowboys aren't they, I feel sorry for people who are fooled by their ways who give them their hard earned money!
Thanks to you all for your replies, my mind is very much at ease now! :j0 -
Next time just tell her the 'alleged debt is denied and any further contact by phone or by letter from her company will be considered harassment'.
PHONE DOWN.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

If they ring again, just say that the alleged debt is denied, and tell them not to ring again, or you will regard it as harrassment under the the terms of The Protection from Harassment Act 1997. Then bid them goodbye and hang up.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0
