Just wanted to post that while I'm not currently able to do anything extra, I'll be watching and continuing to help with suggestions, etc, if needed. :)

    Hope you don't mind..

ok i subscribed to this thread days ago and have been avidly reading but i really should join. My 1% of debt just seems a massive amount for me to make any inroads into due to various factors and i think i would just feel so defeated trying to get each percent so i am breaking it down into chunks or should i say credit cards, paying off highest rate card first, my 1% for this card is £25, listed loads on ebay the other day and i also admin a local selling group on facebay so have loads on that as well, have a few big things to sell so hopefully they will sell on that to help me on my way.

no extra money in our household income just now as dh was made redundant and struggled to get a job so returned to college last year which finished last month so its back to signing on for him which drastically reduced our household income as did eldest child finishing first year at uni and being informed he can't sign on during his breaks so he has no cash coming in and is waiting for his pvg registration to come through before he can start his part time job. anyway that is enough waffling from me, hoping to make my first percent by the end of the month so fingers crossed,

Hi all, I've decided to sell all my craft things as I would rather have the money in the bank, looking through it all I can say I've got thousands of pounds worth of stuff so I started putting it on e*ay last night, going to aim to put 20 listings on per day all at sale price and combine postage then it appeals to more people, does you good to have a clear out x I'm hoping I can get atleast 5% from it all as most of the stufff is brand new, how silly I was always buying never making.

    Hi everyone,

Doesn't the sunshine make the world a better place.
Just wanted to say we have paid off 5% off our debt this month - which is great news.:j I have also got some money coming from EBAY shortly - which will go straight off the debt - not quite 1%, but you never know!

I've done a few reviews on Dooyoo, but need to do more - going to use this to save up for Christmas presents. Also going to count up our coin jars and cash them up.

Thanks to everyone on this thread for keeping me so focused.

    Cheers hanliam

  • This really is such a brilliant idea, I'm definietley up for giving it a shot! I'm not in debt, but I start uni in September and would like about £600 saved for it, and since it's not possible for me to have a job during summer, I thought this would motivate me to find other ways. My 1% would therefore be £6, which is far less daunting! I got £25 from selling on amazon, so thats my first 4% already sorted! I've also listed on ebay, and I am going to buy wholesale to sell on, so we'll see how that goes.

Oh guys, I LOVE this challenge, but I need some help.

I'm currently saving for uni fees (£2,500 for my first module, £5,000 in total), moving house (so I'd want a deposit, 6 month's rent and some money for furniture), a holiday (not as important but I want to save towards it) and debt repayment. So I really want to do this challenge but I'm not sure how to account for it all. Can I just do 4 sets of a %?

I just made my first £10 on Valued Opinions! I'm so excited by this! I'm going to get a Boots voucher because I know there are practical useful things I need to buy there, rather than it going towards something from Topshop!

After paying what was left in my current account just before payday for the last two months, I have saved up £160 (so 16%). I'm not sure I'll be able to add to that (and may have to take away from it) as we're going on holiday in two weeks. It's just for two nights in Scotland, but I need to pay the balance for the hotel of £80 and then spending money..

    Hi everyone,
I'm still ebaying...trying to get rid of all my listings and then transfer money from my paypal and as soon as that's done I will update my %. I've also discovered topcashback again! Which I know isn't instant but I need to sort pet insurance anyway so may as well go through them and get a couple of £ back...
well done to everyone so far :)

Nothing has been done today :( well I was at a friends this morning who is a financial advisor in training and she just has a mortgage, a credit card for emergencies and a £300 fee free overdraft now. She says it's great, loads of 'spare' cash and less stress worrying about all the extra payments and debts etc. She also said unless necessary she wouldn't be getting finance out again. It spurred me on really , if she can do it, so can we :T

Bought a friends present on ebay with my eBay earnings so that won't be a dent in the wage pot when we get paid on friday. I need to get my cex trade stuff in the post to receive my money for that, which can go straight into the car fund :) and I also need to do a strict budget for august after the husband has sent his invoices out for payment friday. eBay listings haven't got any bids on yet :( a few watchers though.

First proper Month saving for the car and need 20-25% off the total to get this sorted by november. will be nice to see, hopefully £1200+ in the bank for paying our finance off :) should spur me on.
