Happytails you can get the repair kits on amazon to replace the screen for around £10. There are guides on how to fix on YouTube (yes, speaking from xperience here!)0 -
Special kaye - the book is 50 activities to do with kids under 10 for less than a tenner each. Most activities are free if you use stuff you have around the house. Gonna be a while before I try to market it though as I have ideas for about 5 releated books and I want to have 3 ready to launch together - the idea being people who buy one might buy the others.... Hello all, can I join? I run the Make £10 a day challenge and I think this will work great alongside that. I don't have any debt but I bought my sisters car and owe her the last £800. I had £4k set up to buy it but the last few months have hit hard and I had to dip into my savings. My sister had gone travelling for 2years so she's not desperate for the money so it's given me a grace period to get the £500 together I had to use.
I'll use the remaining £800 as my figure otherwise I'll confuse myselfbut I already have £381 saved up.

Hi folks
Dropped off the bags at cashforclothes and there was 9kg in them so that's £4.50 earned to transfer, plus £5.50 for virtual  we didn't have last night and rather than grab something on the hoof for lunch today whilst in town, I was a good girl and came home, made a cuppa, defrosted a whoopsied croissant I bought recently and had lunch.
So I reckon that's made up another 2%. Off to transfer now and update my sig in a mo.
Keep at it !!

Hello percenters,
Glad you all like the new emotionsI've got lots of fun ideas to add to the thread over the coming months. Some bits & pieces you might find useful too.
Have been writing a few quick start guides for anyone wanting to try the following things out (elance, fivesquids, UserTesting.com) just some tips & tricks and help getting started.
Also been considering doing a beginners guide to setting up a proper website at no cost (MSE style)
I know a few of you have wanted to try some of the things on the 100 item list but didn't know where to start, so just wanted to expand my explaination of them.
If there's anything you'd find really useful & think would help others, please shout up or PM me.
Even if you think it's a crazy idea, if lots of people want it - I'll see what I can doPlus it opens it up for discussion.
Examples - other money systems, small business Q&A (i.e what small business could I start?), spreadsheets, online tools (snowball calc, new SOA, meal planning), tutorials, quick start guides, articles, ipad/iphone apps (I'm no good with android sorry)
***
On another note, my boss has kindly put me forward for a role within the same company but at a different site (my location is closing). Would be a good boost to my percents if I got it but it would mean a bigger commute.
Have to see how it goes! Still got my options open for something more local too though. Will be keeping fingers crossed for some interviews shortly!
Hope you all have a lovely evening!

Hi Little Miss
I know this isn't technically money saving but I was just wondering whether other people make a note of their incomings and outgoings. I currently have set up an excel spreadsheet but feel it could be better so that I know more what money I have got for debt busting and what I haven't.
Any ideas would be great.Did owe £9,951.96

Since September I have kept a monthly spreadsheet of my incomings and outgoings. I record all my spends in a little notebook during the month and look at online banking for things like Direct Debits. I also keep a record on my spreadsheet of my assets & debts at the end of each month so that I can see if I'm going in the right 'direction'. My husband also does the same as we have a lot of separate expenses. Each month I seem to add in new catgories & I'm sure I'm still forgetting some spends each month but it has been interesting to see where our money is spent and has helped us to curb our spending.1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

That's a good idea liz-paul, I may have to start doing that.
Well my hubby has now gone away to work for the next ten days so I have decided to set myself a challenge - 10% in 10 days (£200)
By start of business on 8th December 2012 I want to have added at least another 10% to my total. As long as this money is paid into the savings account by this date it will count
So I'm planning on doing more craft fairs (3 booked during the 10 days - plus I'm cheating a bit as I had a craft fair yesterday which ended very late so already have £70 sitting waiting to be banked!!), saving on craft spends, asking school if anyone wants to buy my cards etc, seeing what was left over at end of month (as payday today) and only spending £20 on food for whole 10 days (anything left will go into the pot).
I'm beginning to think I'm mad - but but this thread is so inspiring I feel like I can achieve anythingMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Hi Little Miss

It is hard to find a method that sticks sometimes. It'd be good to hear what others use.
I often start a spreadsheet but then overwhelm myself with how much I've got to fill in. I think a spreadsheet is a great idea for when you are working on the same PC every day.
If you don't primarily use computers all day or are hopping between different ones then maybe a notebook is better. You can take notes in the day and then copy things over to a spreadsheet at home.
The first time I cleared my debt down really fast I had a balance book and it really helped. I used a polypro notebook from paperchase a bit like this one http://www.paperchase.co.uk/invt/00495724/ but with a different design. It had a mix of ruled, lined and graph paper and a folder at the back and it's got room to clip a pen on too.
I kept it with me all of the time, wrote notes in the front (ideas, plans etc) did a daily balance check and wrote that in at the back with the date. Fresh page for each day. I made a chart on the graph paper & put a X to where my total balance was every week or so.
I also used to like making a small payment to each of my cards to take the balance down to a round numberThey soon added up and snowballed.
I also wrote down each of my card companies phone numbers and put a sticky tab on it so I didn't have to look them up every day and saved any receipts in the folder at the back.
As soon as I changed jobs and didn't get my notebook out every day, that's when the numbers started to creep up because I wasn't keeping a close eye on incomings/outgoings. I was earning more than I had done before but wasn't keeping track as I should have.
I was flicking through the notebook the other day, I couldn't believe how much I was paying off each month! It was 1K+ even though I was on a tiny salary (worked several jobs at once)
Tracking what you spend and owe down to the penny really makes a difference.0 -
I am loving this thread. I have signed up to join but not got my number yet. I am already thinking of my debt in %'s. I have paid a few off today but I have a few more payments to make yet over the next few days so I will work it out soon.
It makes it all seem more manageable thinking of it this way. Thanks LMUD :T🎄PAYDBXMAS21 #11 £11,300/£11300
