  • Thanks for the welcome Little Miss! :)

I've put £45 over to my savings now, so I am now at 1%. I'm still selling some of my toiletries, and I'm now up to £78, so I may get up to 2% soon!

I buy to sell on ebay although i dont want people poking around in my ebay, only because i know people who have had problems on this forum from other members :(

Anyway, some things i find that sell well and can be picked up fairly frequently are :

    LEGO & STICKLEBRICKS
    DR MARTENS
    VINERS CUTLERY

Also search " mid century modern " on ebay for items you may easily come across at bootfairs and charity stores.

Good quality workmanship always sells well, Also think about the sort of things people collect : moneyboxes, pigs, frogs, cats ornaments if slightly unusual.

There is a post somewhere about things people didn't think would sell but it did, i see if i can find it out and post a link :)

    Hey everyone!

Member #141 here, checking in as it's payday, with another 1% I've taken out of my earnings (for now) working on another percentage through other things.

    I've paid 4% now!

Thanks for that. I am having such a big sort out at the moment. I have got about 25 big boxes in the garage full of stuff everybody does not want anymore.

The last two free listings days I have listed so much stuff. Last weekend I made £358 after fees which is great. I found Mr Potatoe Head stuff sold really really well especially the items that are available from Disney. I sold all of the items we had which is great. I have purchased alot of christmas presents this week with the cash and transfered some of the money to my mums savings account.

On to next weekend now - I just hope lots of my stuff goes.

  • Was just having a bit of a wobble – mentally, was getting that old feeling of being a bit overwhelmed with debt, mainly because I cant pay off what id like to this month cos of usual life getting in the way – it was beginning to worry me. But then I looked at the forum, reread over a few posts and then saw my squares, all 12 of them coloured in which means £960 is gone from my debt forever, and this month ill be definitely paying off another £560 which takes me up to 19%, I remembered how I used to tread water with my credit card and how id only ever pay off about £50 a month after id paid off a massive chunk and then proceeded to spend like crazy on it again! Its very motivating, and I'm looking forward to entering the 20 %ers.

Thanks again guys, ill be updating next week with my confirmed %, I'm hoping to pay a couple of percents more but I've got a day trip to Calais booked for the 2nd and I might need a few euros for all the cheapo wine!

    Keep up the good work!

  • Hi everyone :D

I love reading this thread and seeing everyones percentages going up.

Today I have paid £26 straight to CC so am now up to 2% - I got this and another £18 through selling old uni texts on Amazon (that I originally bought from there).

They both sold shortly after coming on here and me looking at booking buying sites thinking they would never sell :)

Keep up the good work everyone :D

Ah that's a familiar feeling, getting frustrated. I guess it's because getting debt free means a lot to us and we're always striving for more and more to be gone. It's brilliant that your squares reminded you just how far you've come!

I just try to remind myself that life will always 'get in the way', yes we may have to re-jig our figures every now and again but the more we keep on with it, the more it snowballs in our favour.

It's like heading out in the car on a journey. We know there will be red lights, which we wait patiently at. We may feel like kicking off and turning round :D but we carry on and get to our destination.

Grr that £40 i trasnferred from PP may not actually go into the CC after all. Husband took £100 out of our personal bank to put into the business savers for our tax which we are £3k short on this year. So essentially we are £60 down now (personally)

Just sorted my car insurance out, its going up by £32 a month due to getting a 1.8 7 seater as opposed to a 1.0 eco car. Knew it would happen and not much we can do as we need the car, just going to have to cut back a bit more here and there. Petrol will be a bit more but hopefully husband will manage to cycle to work and back a fair bit over winter (saving me 16 miles a day). Good news is its all in place though now ready for the car swap on Thursday.

My credit rating has been sorted on Credit expert and has gone from 'Fair' to 'good' which i am pleased with :) So next June i should have no issue getting a 0% credit card to clear my car finance. :T

15 things on Ebay, no bids yet but a fair few watchers, they all end Sunday so plenty of time yet.

Not much else to report here, still pregnant and very uncomfortable!
