I think thats a great idea, what about a 'movie night sweetie pack'. Lots of goodies, chocs and popcorn and some fizzy drink! All in a goodie box! In fact this would be a good idea for kids party packs too!

Not a crazy idea, many moons ago we had a shop van that would come around the estate much like an ice cream van would, and also a chip van :rotfl:

There have been many occasions after a heavy night that BF and i would have gladly paid to have a sunday dinner delivered :o

When I was little we used to have a mobile shop that would come round selling sweets, pop, basic tinned stuff, crisps, bread, milk and cigarettes. We also had a mobile chippy once or twice a week.
We often think it would be good if there was a cafe/type thing (open in the evening) that sells just desserts-yummy. x

Not got much further with anything else. Waiting to get paid tomorrow to sort things out and see where we are at.

    Hi all

Just quickly checking in - think it has been 4 weeks since I first read this thread. I am now at 19% :j

I can't even begin to describe how exciting this is, particulary as we are on such a reduced income due to being on maternity leave. I'm so proud - and so grateful to Little Miss Uni Debt :) This week 3% has come from ebay and 1% from fatbrain. I would like another 7% from ebay sales alone before the end of October as when I get to 25% I will physcially go into the bank, pay it in and reduce the overdraft limit. I have 29 things listed at the moment and then plan to sort my clothes and a cupboard of bits and bobs in the baby's room.

    Take care

    Hi
Over the last few days I have read pages 1-30 and decided to give it a go. I don't specifically have a debt to pay off but I am about to hand in my notice on a job that currently has me off work with stress. As I don't have another job I have worked out that the bare minimum I can live on per month to get the bills paid is £1000 so allowing 2 more months to find a job after my 3 month notice period expires I need £2,000 therefore my 1% is £20.
I have got a few bits on EBay and I am up to £3.70 - I also have a clothes recycling shop around the corner so will try to find 10kg to take there. From following the posts I have also put 2 offers up on fivesquids and will try to think of more to do.
I think now that it has stopped raining I will go for a walk and see if I can find any 10ps on the floor. :)
Fab forum guys, you have convinced me that I can change my life for the better.

  • HI everyone,

    welcome jeneflower :)

I think the chocoplate idea is fab happytails - if only you lived near me - I would spend all my %'s on chocolate if I could :D

Well I have just paid into the savings pot my £30 birthday money so I can now officially declare:-

    Member 17 = 88% :j

Only 12% more to go - wow - it feels amazing and this challenge has helped so much. I even think it has been spurring hubby on to see the account rising each month - so much so that the motorbike sale money has now cleared into the savings pot and we have reached our £40k target (which we aimed to get by the end of this year!!) :j:j:j:j:j

  • Hi

Thank you for the welcome, I feel like I know you all from reading your posts. Well I have done it, notice has been handed in so I am desperately job hunting as well as trying to build up my £2,000 but I feel like a massive weight has lifted and a I ready to face the new challenge. :j

Hopefully I will have my first 1% to report soon.

  • I'm going to start again with "baby steps" on this I think, and just take one debt to eliminate to start with. it's for £600 so my 1% will be £6.00.

I've reduced this debt to £250 before but built it up again, so I feel I need a plan to save up the money on the side, then close the account!! Otherwise it will never go!:rotfl:

It's the same £600 that is in my sig as one debt in 100 days. Same idea really I suppose, but I won't put a time on it, I'll just try to get my percents as quickly as possible!

I decided to go with this! I've added all my debts, because I think it'll be most productive - and kick started the challenge by paying off 1% right away.

Already got a lot of inspiration from the board, looking forward to putting it into practice.
