Sorry if this is incorrect but I am passing on the information I was given in a Skipton branch today after asking about transferring my isa to Skipton then splitting it between the Skipton easy access and another isa with another provider sparkiemalarkie said:hamski said:Just a heads up for anyone wanting to open an easy access account with Skipton, they do not allow partial withdrawals which is what I want to do to split an isa close to the £85000 protection limit
However, I was NOT allowed to do a partial ISA transfer from 1 Skipton ISA to a new Skipton ISA.
I wanted to have the both the Cash ISA tracker and the Bonus Cash ISA .... so I did a partial transfer to another provider and a transfer back into the new account.
It was a bit of a faff but was completed within 4 days.

I have no idea why they don't allow partial transfers online between Skipton isas. Its not made very clear when you move the funds online - and you could easily shut an account you wish to keep in error.
Surely there must be a way for them to do this - so you can say move some of your prior year funds from an easy access to a fixed rate ISA? I have not come across this issue with anyone else - although I remember Coventry telling me you had to do internal transfers by phone and not online as it would be treated as a withdrawal not a transfer.

Coventry 4 Access Cash ISA now showing as 5.05% for new and existing customers - I'm sure it still said 4.90% yesterday.6

Our Coventry accounts have changed to 5.05% were definitely showing as 4.90% last night, this is great as I thought we would have to open new ones and do transfers0

Charter now have the highest-paying (open to all) 1 year fixed rate cash ISA at 5.72%
But how they got there amused me this afternoon...
They actually relaunched it at 5.76% today (as still currently listed on moneyfacts at the time of posting this), then they must have noticed that Virgin had dropped their (open to all) 1 year rate from 5.75% down to 5.70% and so Charter then reduced theirs to 5.72% (to stay on top of the table, just ahead of Kent Reliance at 5.71%). I reckon that 5.76% Charter rate must have been available for a matter of hours
Of course these small rate tweaks don't make a big difference (we're talking £8/year on £20k for today's Charter drop), but it's interesting to see how different banks conduct their business.4 -

Once funds are showing can I then apply for this one & request they transfer the whole £80K into this, while I decide where to split the £80K once the next interest rates meeting has taken place?0
