A mini-flurry of top rate EA ISAs as we hit the mid-point between BoE meetings:

    Cynergy 4.55%
    Virgin 4.51%
    Chorley Double Access 4.5%

I'm holding out for this 4.65% from Moneybox - after I pressed the customer service rep a bit she said most existing customers should have it available by COP Monday....

I don`t get this Moneybox, they seem to just provide other providers savings accounts and at the moment with not very good rates.
Simple saver and all the rest are notice accounts.
You certainly wouldn`t be an existing customer with them for their savings rates!

Just wondering who`s going to provide the 4.65% ISA account for them.

I just put £1 in the simple saver to count as an existing customer.

Tbh as long as they're above board, I'm not too bothered what their operating model or other rates are - 4.65% is a great product.

Fwiw the screenshot provided earlier and the Key Features Document I downloaded suggest that it's an "in-house" account.

My experience of them when I had a LISA was very good.

    Virgin Money 1-year fix @ 5.80% AER

I opened the Virgin 5.61% Isa last week and I have now opened the 5.80 exclusive Isa. Does anyone know if I can cancel the first one and have the funds transferred to the new one? I've only put a small amount previous years funds in both. Will top up the exclusive ISA in 30 days with this years funds if I haven't found a better one.

You are within the 14 day cooling off period on the 5.61% and so you can transfer it into the 5.8% one.
Whether you can do it online yourself, I don`t know.
You may have to phone Virgin and ask them to do it.
Others on here may be able to advise how to do it yourself.

I was too late to ring today so will ring them tomorrow

Unfortunately I've had problems with Virgin transfers before. I can't wait until they integrate both parts of the business. One ISA is with the original Virgin Money, and the other is on the Yorkshire Bank side of Virgin. Last time I had a problem, no one I rang could deal both sides and kept giving me wrong information.

I have a theory about the latest top ISA rates 4.5 and 4.55% (Cynergy) which have appeared. They are just getting in before the BoE Sept 21st rate increase and will claw the margin back after the 21st by NOT increasing the rate to match for a long time. We've played this game of cat and mouse too many times now. Put it this way, I'd be surprised if they stay competitive by October
  • When did Virgin update their easy access exclusive ISA?
