As always regarding opening or funding dates and time periods etc.,you need to read the T&C of that particular account.

How would things go if on the last day of the cooling off period you wanted to transfer to a new provider, bearing in mind it`s the new provider who has to request the transfer.
Would this be allowed or is it just for an internal transfer with your current provider.

Quite few on here have done the "Virgin shuffle" and I can confirm that this is also possible with Charter but I haven`t heard of anyone trying to transfer to another provider within the cooling off period.

The 14 day cooling starts from the date of funding.

What are you basing this on  ? If correct it means a Virgin ISA effectively has a six week cooling off period (30 days to fund plus 14)

Moneyfacts website and others state that the cooling off period usually starts when contract is signed .....

Shawbrook now offering the best easy access ISA rate at 4.43%.

The best easy access ISA is a long way behind the best easy access general savings account at present.
This offers either annual or monthly interest payments but it is not flexible.

Thanks for that ! It seems that Virgin are more generous than most others, not just with their lower interest penalties!

Nat West ISA transfer. Once the transfer has taken place, ie the ISA is funded, does the Nat West cooling off period still apply? Hoping someone will know the answer. I regret getting the one year rate with Nat West and hoping to transfer to the two year higher 5.9 rate but can not get through on the phone and boy do the people on the Ask Cora chat, give generalised ISA advice that I aready know rather than actually answer the question other than to tell me to phone their ISA line and wait everytime, just to be cut off.

I tried transferring my 2.75% Leeds ISA to the 5.5% one, but the guy on the phone said the only way to do it is to send a secure message request to them, as it wasn't possible to do it over the phone.

    I haven't heard back yet.
