  • Coventry Limited Access online (3) cash isa going up a whopping 0.1% in January.  Might save that bottle of bubbly after all.

I have transferred out of virgin a couple of times without a problem, so you might just have been unlucky.  They also have some of the more lenient fixed rate isa penalties.
I also have been OK both to and from VM.  I don't know if it's a case you see the bad experiences reported more as on review sights or whether I was just lucky.  I would have a concern about them rectifying anything that went wrong in a timely manner right now based on messages I had sent about reasonably low priority issues but they were addressed eventually.  Their service has deteriorated since Clydesdale took them over, they used to be very good prior to that
Yeah, cheers but nah, I will stick with yes,  thank you and no.

    Thank you.
  • I've just applied for the Barclays 2 yr Fixed ISA which I will be funding by transfer. Right at the end, I pressed the button for transferring in, expecting it to take me to a page where I could input details of the appropriate ISA. Instead it just took me back to the T&Cs. The account is clearly open in "My Accounts".
Do I have to wait for the 5-10 "pack" to arrive (which given the time of year and current situation could take forever) or has anyone found a way to supply the details elswhere?

If you scroll to products in the app, click on that, then click on savings and isas, and you will find a link that says 'Transfer in an Isa'.

The 1 year Barclays ISA at 4% seems a good deal, but currently with Virgin EA earning 3%, I assume Virgin will be updating the rate after the current rise, then again next month after the next BOE rise....

So makes the opening and transferring to a fixed Barclays ISA a difficuilt one ????

They might but it is dangerous to assume.  It depends more on how other banks move.

Depends if you're already a Barclays customer too @harrys66.

If you are, you can deal with this on line.

If you're not, despite what the Barclays helpline woman told me, you have to go in to a Barclays branch to make an appointment to open this ISA account (helpline woman told me I could walk in with proof of ID etc and it would be dealt with there and then).

I've been to my local branch today and booked the soonest available  appointment - 20th January 2023.

I'm very doubtful it will still be available by then.

Luckily already had a current account from ages back with £1 in it

Just tried and managed to open the ISA with zero pounds after logging in, took less then 5 mins and showed up immediately in my list of accounts :)

I think I'll message them asking how many days they allow to initiate ISA transfer in after opening, then decide on the last day I'm allowed

PS started the isa transfer process, but did not complete it, looks like it will be a fully electronic transfer from VM to barclays, probably only take a few days

Their website says 30 calendar days from ISA account opening for transfers in.
