Thank you for this information. I've just opened the account with a nil balance.

I read that I have 30 days after the issue is closed to transfer any existing Isas to the account.

Also, it says that I have 14 days to transfer any previous Isas online. I'm not sure why they make the online transfer limit to the first 14 days.

This makes my previously opened Virgin exclusive Isa redundant.

My current flexible Isa is earning just 1.15% and I'm just opening fixed Isas with nil money in at the moment until I think I should transfer in.
It's hard to know when to "go for it"

I opened a Virgin ISA yesterday @ 1.76% and was really mad as I waited so long on the phone to talk to someone who could  transfer my old ISA across. It never happened as it was too close to closing.

Looks like I'm going to be collecting redundant ISAs too

Have you thought of splitting your old ISA and keeping some in reserve for any better rates?
It's been in my mind but can't work out if it would be any advantage.

I have wondered whether to do that. I also have some flexibly withdrawn isa money that I have put into Chase that will gain taxable interest if I leave it there too long.

I might wait the 13 days and transfer some of the money online. However I also nearly added to the 1.76 Isa recently.

Virgin have just upped their 1 Year Fixed Cash ISA rate to 1.9% if you can't get the 2% product offered to their current account holders.

I`m not going to do a fixed rate ISA `til we see where the BoE goes.
The way inflation is we should be getting 6% plus but I don`t expect the BoE want to make thousands homeless.
I`m going easy access ISA with Marcus @ 1.30%.
If rates go higher I`d imagine Marcus will follow.

I think there is a 14 day cooling off period where they will return your money without penalty.

Cheers that never occurred to me and just checked their key facts and it says can cancel without charge in 'the first fortnight' so should be OK. Annoying they're closed today to discuss ISA, their undated welcome letter says they're phoneline is open 10-4 today but they're not and their online  chat said they can't help me and I'll have to phone...

Just had a thought - if I can cancel it will I be allowed to open another cash ISA because of the rule about only being able to open one cash ISA in the same tax year?
