e.g. If you deposit £3,600 and withdraw all of it 5 months later and close the account you'd receive around £51.97 interest.0 -
Thanks for a quick reply0

Eventually got them to pull out their thumbs......except as of now theyve only pulled them out of their Scottish arrises.......
Clydesdale says
(vii) For the Cash ISA Issue 1 and Issue 2, interest is calculated daily on the cleared balance in the Cash Account on that day and is credited to the Cash Account at Maturity, or on account closure. For the Cash ISA Issue 3, interest is calculated daily on the cleared balance in the Cash Account on that day and is credited to the Cash Account annually and at Maturity, or on account closure.
Yorkshire says
(vii) Interest is calculated daily on the cleared balance in the Cash Account on that day and is credited to the Cash Account at Maturity, or on account closure.
....so go with Clydesdale and you'll be fine.
Yorkshire have got it right now, after a phone call or 2 :j0 -
Yup I queried it on Friday and I told them Yorkshire was wrong, they pointed me at Clydesdale but they were unaware that Yorkshire was wrong, and I was unaware that Clydesdale was right!!!illegitimi non carborundum0

I am still looking to transfer a matured fxd ISA to another 2/3 year fixed deal. I note the following offers advertised: ICICI - 3 yrs - 4.6%, 2 yrs - 4.25%; Santander - 18 months -3.25%. Are these brand new deals and is it likely that there will be more new deals launched during this ISA season. I do not particularly fancy the above banks, but deposits appear to be guaranteed by the UK govt. scheme!!!0

Are you thinking of moving your money out of ISA's  or have ICICI started to do ISA's :think:0

Sorry, the rates quoted in my post are not ISA rates. I have spotted them listed under the general heading "Compare Cash Isas" by Money Supermarket. Apologies to all....
I shall atick to the list of best ISAs published on this site in future.0 -

Anyone who thinks £3.34 interest without tax is not a ripoff is bloody stupid.
Abbey have ripped me off and I'm closing my accounts.
stonemushroom - When signing up to any financial product you must make sure that you have read and understood the terms and conditions of the product you are signing up for.
The info on this thread not only lists the name of the ISA provider, but also the exact name of the ISA along with the supplied interest rate. You made a mistake in signing up for the wrong ISA. That is not the fault of this site or Abbey.
ISA providers can amend their web addresses (and ISA rates, terms and conditions...etc.) at any time. Therefore, it is good practice to ensure that you have read and understood the terms and conditions of any product you sign up to at the time of opening it. I suspect that you won't make this mistake again in future. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
A small word of warning on the Newcastle Balance Builder regular saver. This may well tempt people as it allows transfers and pays 3.4%, so pretty good for those with large lump sums built up.
However be aware that after 1 year it kicks out into the Maturity+ ISA account, which currently pays just 1.5%. So if you go for this account you will need to check the rate at the end of the year and will almost certainly want to switch it.0
