Yes, but only past years' contributions - not the current tax year's.
SuzeThanks, Suzy.
When ISAs are consolidated, is it ever possible to 'un-consolidate' them, and spread the risk, retain flexibility etc?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Savings & Investments, Small Biz MoneySaving and House Buying, Renting & Selling boards. I think it also depends on whether your existing provider (where they're consolidated now) allows partial or split transfers out -- some don't. The only one I have an experience of is Abbey, where I could transfer some out (from past years, not the current year) but leave some behind.~cottager0

I have a £20k certificate from Icesave for my Cash ISA.
Who is paying the best rate for Cash ISA who will take an Icesave transfer, or where is everyone else who got their ISA money back from Icesave putting theirs?0 -

Any of the providers listed on the first page of this thread, apart from those listed as "New money only" will accept an Icesave transfer. You may need to speak to more than one person at your chosen provider in order to get someone who understands the procedure for Icesave ISAs - some staff are not well informed, unfortunately.

An update to some of the rates on the first post is required:
Manchester BS: 3.5% - as of 20/01/09
Standard Life Bank: 3.5% - as of 19/01/09 (still not a bad rate relatively so happy with my choice to date)
Stafford Railway BS: 3% - as of 15/01/09 - I suggest removing this one
A deal that perhaps could make it onto the list is:
Yorkshire BS e-Isa: 3.5% - as of 28/12/08 (this one appears in the Moneyfacts top 6 consistent cash ISAs for 18 & 36 months)I came, I saw, I saved.

The first post of this thread has been updated.
This has been a major update this time, as there have been a number of rate changes and a lot of new ISA launches since the last update (just over a week ago).
ISAs by Buckingham, Scottish and Yorkshire Building societies have been added to the list. They all pay 3.50%, but there is quite a high minimum balance requirement to qualify. Still ISAs have been running for some years now, so a lot of people have enough ISA funds to meet the requirement.
There have also been a lot of fixed rate ISA additions. The most notable are from Birmingham Midshires paying 4.20% and Halifax's offerings paying 4.10% for a 4 year fix, 4.00% for 3 year and 3.90% for 2 years.
I have added the 'Rate effective:' field to each of the variable rate ISAs. I was going to do that last weekend, but I wasn't at home so it wasn't possible until now.
The next update will be next weekend, as I have another busy week at work ahead of me.:)Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
I can't bloody apply for a Brum Midshires because it won't let me put in a deposit of £0!0

Ruffler have put back the date they're accepting new applications from:We are currently not accepting new Cash ISA applications. We intend to start accepting new Cash ISA applications from 20th February 2009. Existing ISA customers wishing to deposit funds or transfer from an existing ISA provider may continue to do so. Any Cash ISA applications received prior to this date will be returned. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.
