  • Just wondering where to transfer my ISA. I have 12,000 in my ICESAVE account.
Im not keen on putting it anywhere that hasnt subscribed to the banking code.
I've looked at Super ISA issue 3 from Abbey. If anyone has any advice on this or getting a better rate for my ISA. Id really appreciate any advice.

You're aware that there's a catch with the Abbey product?
Enjoy a high variable rate of 5.75% AER for 13 months and instant access to your cash ISA when you need it, when you put the same amount or more into the Guaranteed Growth Plan or other qualifying investments.
  • No I didnt know that.
Thanks for pointing that out. So I'll give that one a miss.
Are there any others which people could recommend?

Check out Kazza's first post on this thread, which is regularly updated (but check the rates, as some may be in the throes of changing), also take a look at the comparison sites, e.g. http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/money/savings/7/cash-isas.aspx

I was just having a quick look at "Rates" section for the Natwest and RBS cash ISAs. I think they may have stopped paying the bonus for applications made/received after 18/12/08. Looks like you can still apply for the ISA but you'll be getting the underlying rate without the all important bonus.

(Someone might want to check that's right. The small print isn't that clear and the Rioja has been flowing!)

The Natwest advert giving the latest reduced rates does make it clear that the bonus is no longer available, although those that made a transfer before 19 December will still get the bonus for new money or new transfers for the first year. For those who have transferred £27,000 or more and have the 2% bonus the rate is now 4.5%. Not too bad as many variable ISAs are under 2%. Natwest reduced their ISA rate by .75%, Nationwide (proud to be different) by 1.1%.

    Hi Guys

I need to transfer my ISA due to getting a carp rate. I have paid in for this year, so it looks like my only options are Julian Hodge or Newcastle BS, if I want to fix, which I am tempted to do.

Is there any hidden flaws with either of the above, and does anyone think there may be an improvement soon?

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?

Cheshire Building Society (which was taken over by the Nationwide) is offering 4.5% fixed. Application and transfer forms are available to download on the website but they must be in by Monday morning in order to get this rate.
