Best thing that has happened is that my youngest announced that he wants to join the police, because they have so much fun on The Bill. ???

I told him he'd have to be fit, so he's now taking an ultra-keen interest in nutrition, AND joining me on my brisk walks. He belts ahead then dashes back to see how far I've got!

Wonder how long it will last? But jolly glad while it does! His interest in fitness and nutrition, that is, not his career choice, which I find VERY scary! Still, we have a few years to go yet, and it makes a change from computing...

Tell your son, they used to say it's 90 % boredom, 10% overwork. They're wrong, it's 90% boredom and 90% overwork - the two are not mutually exclusive! Believe me, I know - 11 years worth of knowing!

Happily being a mum of 2, not working and scrimping and saving because of it. A good job I found this site is all I can say.

Oh, and I found the 1 month detox by that lovely tv celeb worked wonders for me and I didn't really need to lose weight - just adjusted my eating regime before I got fat.
  • :) So those among you, who do not mind swimming against the stream , clock on "Google" print in Second Opinions read the mans diet for diabetics, which will do even if you are not diabetic, stick to the diet , which, I must warn you, will mean forget the bread and the pasta, and the rice and anything flour based among other things. (All of which were among my favourite foods, along with anything else that create obesity) and stick to it for a trial of a month as I did . I lost a stone in the four weeks, and feel great . just for the record i found that my blood sugar level, blood urine level, blood pressure were greatly improved . Go on read it and if you do not agree that the man talks a lot of pure common sense go back to the others . It worked for me, what else can one say.

I have just seen the DEFINITIVE reason why no self-respecting MSE - or, indeed, sensible person - would go on the Atkins Diet. Unless they loathe chocolate, in which case they're beyond all help.

In Tesco, by the till, a 60g bar of special Atkins chocolate for ... wait for it ... £1.27. :o

    That's nearly £30 per Kg. :o:o

    That's outrageous! :o:o:o

Who would buy this stuff? It probably doesn't even taste very nice!

No, if you can't live without chocolate choose a diet where you can eat it, in moderation of course!

it actually tastes delicious  but its just as fattening as ordinary chocky and makes you rush to the loo

    ick

(by the way I lost 15 stones on the Atkins diet)  ;D I never ate high fat because it isnt a hight fat diet its a high protein diet, before anyone starts lol

marvellous for diabetics great results a lot of my friends got.
  • Well here we are the day of my operation. I wonder if I can bribe the surgeon to do a tummy tuck whilst I am under anaesthetic? Wish me luck and I will sign in again when I am up and about. Have a great week

Hope it all went well Linda, look forward to having you back. Apparently they give you a tummy tuck if you need breast reconstruction these days, but that's rather an extreme way to get one: maybe sensible eating and exercise is better!
