I really need to join in with this. My weight is getting out of control, I would prefer not to post how much I weigh, my first goal is to loose 2 stone and then another 2 after that and another 2 after that.

I have done SW in the past, the diet worked but my day job hours are so over the place I dont want to join a class incase I miss weeks and have to pay for them. So checking in here will be my class.

I have also done the Cambridge diet which worked wonders while I was on it but its too expensive at £30 per week, esp if you end up cheating and buying real food too.

So this time.....Im going to cut down on what I eat, follow red days on slimming world but as I also have some cambridge shakes left I will have those too.

I really need to re-educate myself regards to food as I dont eat any veg apart from onions, toms and spuds. Its going to have to be baby steps on the veg front, ive just started to eat and enjoy (ish) cauliflower but i will try new things too.

    Good luck everyone!

  • Can I join in with you? I did SW last year when I had child number five. I was doing quite well having lost a couple of stones then found out I was pg with number six four months after having number five. So six children, three in the last three years and the pounds have piled on and though I want to get back on the SW Plan I can't justify spending near enough a fiver a week for classes. However, having said that I did find that knowing I was going to be weighed weekly at class gave me the kick I needed to stick with it, but I still can't justify spending that money just for that.

So, if it's ok, I'd like to join you and hopefully we can all support eachother. I also have various SW books including Free Foods and the shopping booky thingy (can't remember what it's called will go and check later!).

Well, I'm hardly the best advert, given that my weight loss is VERY slow but at least I'm not gaining any more, BUT I've already said somewhere else that using a smaller plate can help. And I have trained the family to dish me up about half as much as they have if they're in charge at that point.

Thanks for your good advice Savvy-Sue,I think this is the way for me-smaller portions, stopping when I'm comfortably full and not cooking enough to feed the 5000 anyone still hungry can eat bread or fruit.

We already eat pretty healthily I think I just need to tweak things a bit.Btw slow weight loss is more likely to last isn't it? Thanks again,

  • I think when this thread started, a long time ago! There was a weigh in day, what does everybody think of this idea? We could post our losses.

    That sounds good to me.

  • Lotta, I've lost the plot! Do you have number 6, or are you 'blooming' still? Hard to diet when you are pregnant.
  • Not still blooming, just blooming fat! Number six was born on 23rd December - I just haven't got around to changing my sig yet!

and isn't it funny how the starving are not often THAT hungry? Learning to stop is a good plan: do you know I don't always eat pudding in restaurants these days? And I almost always skip the starter so as to leave room for pudding!

That's the theory, and I'm sure it's a case of re-educating yourself if your eating habits haven't been that healthy up until now. I'm not sure about infinitessimally slow weight loss ... I was doing really well until I had to go on post-op steroids, at which point my appetite came back after I'd been eating like a bird. And I put on a lot of weight quickly. I did stop gaining before I stopped taking the steroids, which was good, and I haven't gained since, but I haven't managed to lose a lot either.

Lotta, if you're breastfeeding No. 6 - love the new sig! - you shouldn't diet strictly. Of course I'm sure you know that anyway ... what you don't know now can't be important! Keep the fruit handy, make sure you drink plenty and don't eat to quench your thirst. And good luck!
