I can walk that distance in heels no probs:o
I really hate the way trainers feel for some reason-the making me feel slobby aside lol.I won't wear socks either as hate them, tights are fine though
oooh I hate tights, they make me feel sort of claustrophobic:rotfl::I'm not keen on socks either tbh, so I wash my trainers a LOT0 -
I haven't worn trainers since P.E at school-I don't play sports and I hate the look and feel of them.Whenever I've tried anything like that on I've felt slobby rather than comfortable:o I don't think they're comfortable at all!
I wear nice shoes and boots! I loooooove shoes
Thing is I always feel 4 inch heels are a bit OTT for the school run, not to mention being totally impractical for running after a 3 year old. I mean I love heels but my lifestyle cannot cope with high heels. However don't quite feel old enough to embrace the realm that is the court shoe :rotfl::rotfl:
I've got lots of nice ballet flats but when the weather is p!ssing it down and the path is flooded they're not so practical.
This is why I stick to trainers....not the sexiest of footwear granted but can take a bit of bad weather and not be ruined and practical for the school run.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I love 4 inchers (heels of course!!!) but normally in 3 during the day, maybe 2 depends wha shoes go with what I'm wearing:o
Don't any flat shoes,my lowest are 1 inch wedges. If it's wet out I wear sturdy but nice wedge shoes or boots,if taking ds out I'll usually be in wedges or chunkier heels rather than slimmer higher ones.I can run in them no probs and after wearing them so long I balance better in heels (my legs will cramp and ache like crazy ifI try walking outside in flats now:o)
What makes me laugh though,is I can run in heels,be sturdy enough to control my autistic son in heels,do allsorts and never so much as fallen in good sized heels.Yet,a little over two weeks ago I walked to the shop in one inch wedge sandals, stood on a stone and my foot flipped under itself as I fell, ended up on crutches with bruised bones,sprained/strained foot, crying in pain,no obvious breaks though and it still hurts with me being unable to walk on it properly or for long:o
Just typical,eh?!If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Trainers are ugly, don't go with anything and if you care about what other people think they will think you look unkempt with no fashion style, this does depend on age, remember when you were young and would see certain clothes on an older man/woman and think I wont look like that at their age, is that you now?
There are lots of alternative flats available depending on your style and gender, I like Uggs, classic long flat boots, flat strappy sandals and Hunters for walking the dog, I do love a pair of heels too, I wear theese virtually every day and they are never lower than 4 inches and I can do whatever I need to in them, men look good in Timberlands, chelsea boots etc. At a push some people can get away with converse in their 40s but not really they still look like a teacher trying to be "on a level" with the kids:rotfl:All power is from within and therefore under our control0 -
Being blunt, you'll have absolutely no chance of an upgrade if you book in wearing that top (colour + logo = chavtastic).:hello:0

I suppose a few people are going to think that but far from everybody. When I'm trailing round Mr Ts I couldn't give a monkey's what anyone else is wearing on their feet, in the unlikely event that I even notice!:p0 -
I have a perosnal rule - if you can buy it in sports direct, don't buy it!
I'm (half) joking - my running socks came form there!
Trainers are worn for training - the clue is in the name - I have plenty of flat/ low heel shoes I wear without having to wear trainiers - ballet flats, brouges, boots, wedges, flip flops, sandals, campers, toms, uggs.....People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Ah, interesting thread! Here's my 2p-worth:
I wear mostly skirts and dresses no matter what the occasion, so I always travel in a maxi dress and Birkenstocks, with a pashmina for warmth (pashminas are a godsend). If it's long haul, I usually bring a pair of thick socks in case the plane is freeeezing - I can't sleep with cold feet.
I do own sports gear, but only for actually doing sports. I wouldn't ever go out the door in a tracksuit or sports shoes at any other time. Ever. And don't even get me started on velour tracksuits!!
Oh and I am 100% with the sock-haters! I hate wearing them! I like comfy shoes (only do heels for special occasions) - wedges, flip flops, Birkies and tan coloured flat sandals. All quite chic imho!
To those who can walk 2-3 miles in heels - RESPECT. I will never be able to do that. :rotfl:
Trainers + jeans = BIG FAT NO (obviously unless they're Converse/similar). Skechers and the like are so ugly that they make my eyes water, and Crocs should just be banned. :rotfl:
