Yes I have a button tin.
Like many others, I cut buttons off garments that aren't good enough for the charity shop. I string each set (2 or more) together with thread, then it is easy to see if you have a set or not and there is less routing; or does that spoil the purpose of the button box!!!

Yes, I have 3 tins of them! love em to bits!
I adorn lots of things with my buttons, my girls laugh at me when I customise my clothes
" uhoh Mums been at the buttons again..."
I agree they do bring back memories, but can you tell me what is a mop button please? I clearly still have a lot to learn!

I've got quite a few from my gran's button collection and these days you can find them again, sometimes on ethnic style clothing
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

i don't have a button box as such but in my sewing box i do have a small variety of buttons to use for repair jobs.

Me too! I keep the spare ones that come with items of clothing, just in case lol Don't think I've ever had to use one, but you never know!

My grans have all had them too, it must get passed on down the generations. Hmm, except my mum doesn't have one. Not even a sewing box. In the kitchen junk drawer(which I think we all have too), she just has a spool of white thread and one of black with a needle pushed through the thread! :rotfl:

Ooh! I'm so pleased to have found a forum full of fellow button addicts! :rotfl:
I inherited my Granma's button box when she gave up knitting, and then my great Aunt's when I helped clear the loft!
I keep them in jam jars, colour coded!

Seems like there are lots of button addicts out there :D

As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread, so that Button Addicts of the world can unite :T

    I have a button box.

They get used for repairs, but mostly they get used for crafting.

I have acquired quite a lot from my children, who loved buttons and had their own button jars when they were small. My gain :)
