I would second the suggestion to check out the Tripadvisor Dublin website for ideas on where to stay, eat etc.

    We really enjoyed Dublin.

Stayed at Trinty Capital Hotel which is close to Trinity College (and the Book of Kells).

    Try this website:

Think about what you want to see and then decide if a Dublin Pass would save you money.

Definitely do a 'hop-on hop-off' bus tour, we did this when we first got there to get a feel of the orientation of the city.

I think we paid for some things online as it was cheaper and picked up tickets at the Informnation Centre at the airport when we arrived.

For me, Kilmainham Gaol was the best place we saw, I found it very atmospheric and moving.
The Famine Figures (statues down on the keyside) were impressive too.

The single most over rated city on the face of the earth.

And I've put some thought into that comment too, cannot think of any other international city that comes remotely close...Maybe Amman. But even then I doubt it.

But the OP wasn't asking for advice on where to go or even opinions on whether Dublin was a good place to visit.

He's already decided he wants to go.

Nothing wrong with having your opinion on places, just can't understand why you decided to add zero to the thread.

It's a good thing we're not all alike, otherwise there would be no room for everybody in the #1 city of choice.

I want to go to Aleppo - But recent events have convinced me otherwise.

People flock to Dublin thanks to O Leary and it probably is worth a punt.
But can you argue that it's not the most overrated city on earth?

Mr Wang, make your mind up!
Quote, and it probably is worth a punt / most overrated city on earth

I'm sure the OP is delighted with your helpful reply to his request. Hmm, on second thoughts.

Name a city more overrated than Dublin?

The OP didn't ask for my (useless) opinion on what cities I consider overrated! He wanted help/advice with his choice of Dublin.

I tell my grandson of a favourite quote of mine, 'keep quiet if you have nothing useful to say'.

You just dont get it do you. I'll spell it out veeery slowly for you. The OP wasn' t looking for advice on possible destinations. They had already made up their mind where they wanted to go. To that end they were given some useful/helpful tips about how to maximize the time spent in Dublin, and get the most out of the experience.
Nobody is interested in your whiny rant about how you hate Dublin. Who cares!! I think you need to find some other outlet to channel your negativity and self absorption.:)
