Dublin city braeak, tips and advice

London is amazing.
It serves up some of the best nightlife, best restaurants and best hotels in the world. On top of that it is one of the most diverse and multicultural cities on the planet.
It is teeming with history and is home to some of the most widely acclaimed museums in the world.
In fact if Carlsberg did cities it would probably be a lot like London.0 -
i want to book a weekend city break to dublin, any tips, advice on where to stay and go, restaurants, hotels??
Spot the big clue?
I have looked several times and fail to read the words, 'how do you rate Dublin as a destination?' Let me know if I'm wrong.
Woah, you need to just chillax! I'm not sure why you're getting so worked up about this.
The OP asked for tips and advice. My advice was merely to consider an alternative destination based on cost. Now the OP can choose to ignore this if he wishes, that is fine! We dont know why he chose Dublin, maybe he has been to all other major European cities and Dublin is the one he has yet to visit or maybe he found some very cheap flights and didn't realise how expensive Dublin can be. Several people have commented on the thread, some offering specific tips on what to do in Dublin and some suggesting that he looks at other destinations. All these are valid and useful and hopefully the OP will think this.0 -

I think you made a valid suggestion to the OP in your post below and I think the 2 words I've highlighted show the difference between your post and Mr Wang's.totallybored wrote: »As you've not booked yet why not consider somewhere else in Europe. Dublin is very expensive and I personally found it over rated. Find a cheap flight to somewhere in Europe where you can afford to eat out and buy drinks. The single most over rated city on the face of the earth.
I enjoyed our trip to Dublin, we saw the sights but I wouldn't be rushing back.
It's a pity the OP hasn't come back to maybe say that he's either determined to visit Dublin or is open to suggestions for alternative destinations.0 -

Yes, it really is frustrating on these types of threads when people go to the effort of making suggestions and the OP never comes back to respond.0 -

Well the thread was totally derailed by a troll... so i'm not surprised they didn't revisit0 -
For Dublin-on-a-budget travellers, a new Travelodge has opened in a great location, right in the centre of Dublin:
