Blossom, my bedroom is my office also, as I just don't have room elsewhere. I know I keep saying it, but this place is really small. My friend on first seeing it, said, OMG, it's soooooooooooo small.
Like now, someone should say "why have you got a lilo and a tent under your bed?"You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

Gosh, i don't think i have ever seen them. That is a good idea. I will try and find some the right sizes to cram into the (vast) top space of that buffet.0 -

Yes that's the ones, TY, although many styles available
A quick Google also revealed the undershelf jamjar systems my grandad and dad had - maybe some hoarders should consider using their jar hoard for this? You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

It seems a great idea. Dh ha pointed out they could not go the full depth because we would not be able to get the glass out ( the. Top of the cupboard is a long way above the shelf and behind a closed bit of cupboard iyswim)0 -

That comes across as a bit creepy but I am sure professionals would know how to word it
I am picturing a local girl we used to see with such greasy hair I'd say to my kids "look she is as bad as the mother" - as an adult I should have wondered if the girl had any choice
Perhaps too often we dismiss them as "just one of those families"
I on the other hand tend to appear happy-go-lucky and I know some people envied me when in fact I was not waving but drowning
Edit
Byatt - any chance you could get all electricals out of the bedroom? They don't belong there
As a designated person for safeguarding in a school I would certain.y be concerned re a child's appearance or disclosure re this level of hoarding. We all need to be aware of neglect and not accept the 'just one of those families' explanation0 -
Six boxes and a suitcase full of junk done - 3 boxes to go. I just can't believe I've allowed them to clutter up my room and more importantly my mind for so long!!!
The things I've kept would barely fill a box and are almost all CDs and photos/
memorabilia from the kids0 -

Well done Cat, :T0 -
Thanks Byatt! I've had to make some quick trips down to the bins though to make sure I couldn't change my mind about anything!!:D
I'm rewarding myself with a glass of wine now. I'm a little scared that now I've stopped for the night those last 3 boxes will stay for another few years so I'll keep on coming to this thread (and messies) for motivation0
