    Oh oh, dangerous.......thread hoarding :rotfl:
  • Evening all.
SO today I managed a 3.3 km walk/run, then a 5.3km dog walk, in which my dog rolled top to bottom in fox poop. I then went to the big Tescy and bought more cheap wine and food and bits (£50 *rolls eyes*) and have done no de richarding, ebaying.

I have however wiped down all my beautiful new hallway walls that were covered in fox !!!!! and ketchup from Dog. Dog Walking Friend said if they roll in fox, ketchup neutralises it. SO now I have a dog that stinks of ketchup and !!!!!. I tried to wash him and he went MAD and then rolled all over my stair carpet. Fox !!!!!, ketchup, washing up liquid, febreeze and dog hair. Its now covered in Vanish foam and Dog has been banished in disgrace.
I also spoke to my consultant after coming of my medication and I now need to try gluten free for a bit. I have bought some bread and pasta but any advice/experiences gratefully recieved!
First test of the gluten free? THe kids are having pizza and garlic bread and Im JEALOUS.
Im not going to promise any ebaying tonight as I have a Date with Teenage Daughter to wash Dirty Dancing and have dinner together.
TOMORROW however I shall have a house day. Oh yes.

  • Idris, I'm a fair bit south of you; maybe if we manage to arrange a SW or SC meet up I could relieve your Mum of some of the pillows. But also, tell her about Freecycle/Freegle - pillows go in a flash on our local groups. I know, I've been looking!

It's hard to know whether I'm technically SW or South Central here. My Mum is definitely SW; she gets different TV programmes to me although she's only 22 miles further west. But I was born & bred much further west, so am definitely SW in my head, although I am west of the New Forest, anyway! That said, where (& when) I was born, anywhere east of Exeter was referred to as Furrin' Parts - so really, I'm in exile!

Two spinning wheels & one sewing machine brought up to scratch today for Ebaying next zero-listing-fee weekend, on the de-Richarding front...

I would like to go to an os meetup, but tbh, cannot see it happening ATM, swimming against the tide here. :(.

Aother board I made some good friends on, we had a meet up this summer. I know it's verboten, but we actually met at my house (much smaller group and I had met some of them in person before and nothing was arranged on the open forum) it was back in the beginning of summer when I was still sleeping a lot and we didn't really know what was wrong, and the and had been made and I didn't want to cancel, so they all decided that I was to take it easy and they all brought stuff to eat and drink, and it was one of the few days the sun came out, so we picnicked in the garden and was lovely. :). I highly recommend meet ups.

Not being a hoarder but fascinated by this thread can you please answer a question for me. I work for a charity where they take in donations and so many people who donate feel it important to go through the bags they bring in item by item. Every thing is gone over, described, explained how useful it would be for this that and the other and generally treated as if it was treasure. We go along with this, of course, as its only polite but I never understand the thinking behind it and TBH it all gets put into a heap to be sorted through before the best (and saleable) items get sent to the shops. Some things I would never have kept in the first place and they go straight into recycling as soon as the customers back is turned. What do you see in these things that I don't.

Hi Ches, firstly I have to say I don't go through any items I donate to CS, once I've hauled them in there, as far as I'm concerned I'm no longer responsible for the items and it's a huge relief. What a CS does with them doesn't bother me in the slightest. However, before I get them in the bag or box for the CS, that's a different matter. My reasons are deeply emotional and based pn past abandonment, and it would take too long to go into the whys and wherefores.

Are your donations from hoarders/clutterers do you know, or just people who like to talk about their donations? Although there are common themes for hoarders there are also real differences.

edit, tbh, sometimes I just dump the bag and run! I think some of the stuff they must think !!!!!!?! :rotfl:

Byatt we never find out the circumstances about why they are donating. Its just that it always puzzles me why items have to be explained in detail when they are being given away. Like you it wouldn't occur to me to do this but with me its because I am not sentimental about things at all so when its gone its gone. If I had anything to donate that I had to explain what good it could be to anyone buying it, I would probably have kept it. If I have donated it its because its no longer of use to me or I can see no future reason to keep it. They maybe can see how the item can be used but want someone else to do the using.

Idris, you don't have a greyhound do you?! They are renowned for rolling in fox s**t and our greyhound girl Meg was no exception!!! She used to go in the bath and be shampooed and showered down quite regularly after rolling in it in the park, little monkey!! She used to avoid going anywhere near the bathroom for a few days afterwards, just in case we got her in there again, hee hee :-)

Hope you get the smell etc out of the carpet and off the walls.

    Ali xx

PS, Dirty Dancing is the BEST film ever, I love it! Have you seen the show? OH and I went a few years ago, not long after getting married when we had more money and no furry people / toddler, and it was brilliant!
    Not Buying It 2015 :)
  • Yes a greyhound! although the others followed suite- a Vischler (sp) a collie cross and a little black curly thing lol.
He is still stinky and currently sulking in his cage looking naked with no collar on cos I had to wash it ha ha

Really enjoyed Dirty Dancing- DD has seen it before ages ago but at nearly 15 she understood a lot more of the underlying *issues* now. I welled up at the end as per usual and am now sulking cos I cat dance like that LOL

Little DD has a really bad cold and I think she may be off nursery tomorrow. Is it really bad that Im hoping she is so I dont have to go out middway through the day and can De Richard ALL DAY :)

*see, I try to bring my pointless wittering back to hoarding eventually lol
