Also well done on carp removal! Chipping away at it is the best way I think. If I sat down and thought about the enormousness (made up word!) of sorting the entire house I might just cry and never start. BUt little and often works for me.
Oh on Saturday the mothership came over and I nearly had a heart attack when she said that she was tryig to De clutter and "Its like one of those puzzles with all the square tiles and the empty 9th square to move it all into " I stared at her open mouthed and said "Ahem, thats called 9th Squaring" and eyeballed her like this *raises eyebrow*
So if any of you on here ARE actually my mother then kindly fess up, and have you got rid of your 12 spare pillows yet LOLHave nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

Relax, Idris, I swear I'm not your mother.
Gotta go, there are some biscuits which badly need to be de-richarded about now.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Idris, that's really scary:eek:, and no I'm not your mum even though I'm in the SW too.
That's spooky though...:rotfl:0 -

Instead I read the woman who having suffered hthe trauma of a kids rumbling tooth, which would give even me the collywobbles, AND hormonal drive to shop walked past the opportunity to comfort shop. I read SUCCeSS..
Welcome bluebird - well done for jumping into an established thread - new folks extremely welcome - some of us are only getting more familiar with each other as we've been posting for a while, but it is not a closed exclusive club in any way:)
Today:- I have tackled hidden mountainous stashes of paperwork. It all just needs filing or chucking, as I always deal with stuff that needs action straight away quickly these days.
- I've set up a ddm I've been meaning to do for 2 months
- had a new boilerman to the house who was a great sucess - and it feels a relief to have found one at last (long dull story). It is one less thing weighing on my mind.
- The bookshop C.S have got back to me and will be picking up 76 books next week:j.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
I love the bobbly update! Made me smile. And I'm sorry if I offended anyone with the phrase 'actual people'. It's just that so few of the people featured on tv have wonky noses or bad hair or wheelchairs.
Only a little progress here. Decluttered an orchid to a neighbour who will put it with all her other orchids and care for it tenderly instead of putting it on the landing windowsill, smiling at it occasionally and feeding it cups of cold, black tea. Also passing on a scarf to a colleague who admired it. I have heaps of scarves. You will be pleased to know that DH stomped out of the house muttering that he was sick of the kettle leaking, bought another one in the local supermarket AND put the old one in the bin outside on his return. Lastly, I threw some food in the bin that was nearly stale, resisting the temptation to either keep it one more day or eat it to try to get rid of it.
Am so enjoying everyone else's posts. Thank you.0 -
Will someone please kick me up the bum and make me throw away my old boots - pleeeeaassse!0

kick for katep23 - come on girl, chuck 'em out and report back.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Thanks hun, they are in the rubbish bin in the wood shed - why was that so hard?!
In a bid to be a bit more organised I have done a mealplan for the week - so far so good we have stuck to it :rotfl:
I need to inventory my larder (I recall a rather rash promise that I would "sort it out" some time ago but have never quite managed it).
I really do need to get some sort of order in there and find out what is there so I can rotate / use up / chuck out as appropriate :cool:0
