Jo-Jo you could safety pin the fleeces to the curtains. I'm meant to do mine but haven't got around to it.
I'm lucky this month as I have lots of work, but I'm also completely exhausted as a result. Disappointed with the blood test results in as much they are "normal"...I was hoping for a quick fix. My iron is 42 which is low they say but "normal". Plus a couple I can't remember were low but normal.
I'm getting the log burner swept on Friday, so need to move things around a bit and tidy, which is not so bad in the living room now, but all I want to do is sleep.0 -
Hi JoJo, great to hear from you.
Thanks for sharing your story 365.0 -
Did I tell you the story of the fishing rod? Maybe I did but Ches's comments reminded me of it. The reason why people talk about their donations is that they are trying to keep control of them by explaining their worth to other people. Anyway, the fishing rod - Mum couldn't let go of it. She and Dad used to fish together in the days of black and white and although it hadn't been used for 50 years it was 'still a good one' so she and my step-Dad tried to get some money for it from a fishing shop in a nearby town. Of course, the Manager was never there to give them the quote and in her quest for good money for it (or a recognition of it's value) she and my step-Dad turned down an offer for £50 from a neighbour. And kept on going back to the shop. Then they nearly got divorced over what they were going to do with it. I believe she still has the fishing rod. Likewise, Dad's banjo and a barometer he repaired and which has since deteriorated irretrieveably, if it was ever any good. On one hand, I feel incredibly frustrated that her life is cluttered with random things because she cannot let go. On the other, I feel very sad that she had to go through being widowed relatively early and spent the next few years living half a life on her own.
I was in a cs once when a man came in demanding that they search for his family Bible, which he said had been in a bag he brought to donate. He was incredibly rude and thought these women beneath him and this wonderful Bible but of course, it was never found. I think the cs ladies put up with quite a lot.0 -
I never looked for things that people asked for, I just went into the sorting room and got on with some work then came out and said I couldn't find it. Other people's mistakes weren't my problem. The vols might want to talk about it for hours on end, I was too busy.
I had no qualms about chucking people out if they were rude or abusive to the other staff or customers. I am a nasty basket as well as a liar!0 -
Hi Folks
I have been having trouble getting rid of a box of casssettes even tho I have no means to play them, they all bring back memories - then I sat down with them and searched for the songs on YouTube and sent a link to favourites to my Facebook page - so I now have video AND the favourite songs and am one box lighter as the cassettes are now binned - why did it take me so long to think of doing this? I will whittle down the fb page in time
I can probably see myself on some of the videos if I look close enough - pogo anyone?
PS Another vote for greyhound/whippet/saluki, or will be if the Italian puppies I have my name down for are born as expeceted next June-ishYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

We have a lot of cassettes. Most of it is not available in any form now, and some are original recordings, so I have suggested to dh we bite the bullet and have it transferred to disc or something, for easier storage.
We never play them, as the music on them is too precious to lose.
I laugh about it because otherwise I might cry!:o0 -

Not sobers, Italian puppies? Just asking'.......
If the were more robust I would love an Italian greyhound (I mean, my greyhound is italian, but I mean the breed Italian greyhound' but
They are just too fragile and breakable.. My full size one is fragile enough. I think whippets are the most durable of 'that' class of sight hound.

Hello. Help me with my bedroom please. Im churning it regularly- piles of clothes from floor to bed to floor. I have no decent chunks of time (im pickig up boys at 3.30, then off to work at 4) I need to go to work and fetch stuff yet and I wont be home til 10 ish.
SO Im sitting here like a plank not spending even the 15mins I could spare on it. I despair of myself.Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

Pick up some stuff and take it out with you when you leave the house. don't come back to the house with the stuff.
Is that what you want us to say? I'm not very good at the motivational bit, but doing something is better than doing nothing. Deal with one thing a day and it's 365 things less in a year - time is not the issue!0
