Well done D&DD!
Found two T-shirts at the bottom of the wardrobe that had been 'saved' for decorating about a decade ago. They are now in the bin. I didn't even mean to be decluttering but I can't help myself now - if it's in my hand it has to be considered.
Also turfed out two more cookbooks to pass on to DD, as she is the one who likes this particular chef. If she doesn't want them, I will gladly cs them as I am sure they will sell.0 -
Also forgot to say that I cleared out the study drawer last night - something like a kitchen drawer, but with stationery. There were marbles, paper clips, five calculators, very many rubbers, a paperweight I have never used, half pencils ... All either in the bin or bagged up for our wonderful cs, which takes and sells the most bizarre things.
Now I just have to persuade DH and DS to help me with the rest of the room.0 -

I've got one of those which I will tackle one day soon. I have sorted a pile of paperwork which has been glowering at me for weeks (months?) - some for shredding, some for recycling, some for filing. I feel like I've achieved something this evening. :j0 -
I am a happy bunny :j
Thanks to you lot I have FINALLY tackled my paperwork...all 14 boxes :eek:
Just one last box to shred tomorrow the shredders given up the ghost and so have I :rotfl:
But just wanted to say thanks its only through reading all your stories etc on here I finally found the get up and go to tackle it

And thanks to you - so have i!!
I persuaded OH to do 10 minutes in the office of doom, the obvious starting point was the four draw filing cabinet. After an hour we have filled a recycling box and cleared
ABOUT A FIFTH OF ONE DRAW :T:T
:rotfl:
Oh well, it is at least a start.
Honestly the carp that was in there. Old (and I mean really old) pay slips, my DD's starting primary school pack (she is 16!), manuals for appliances we don't possess any longer and receipts for beds, beds, beds and carpets, carpets, carpets. I had no idea we had bought so many of each of these.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
*whispers* VJ's mum we found my 21 yr olds nursery checklist
and every school report, parents evening slip, school trip letters etc etc The stuff I actually needed is now in 2 box files and a box..ooh the shame :rotfl:

I could cry.
My first proper tomato crop. All grown from seed (several times over because of being zapped by the weather). There must be about a stone of good sized tomatoes.
And only three have ripened before I saw the first traces of a frost last night, and mildew on the courgette plant (which stopped producing flowers about a month ago, after making about 5) so I've had to get them all in today.
Three. Out of so many.
I'll try to get some of them to ripen, but I'm not counting on it.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
You can make chutney I think out of green tomatoes.
ETA: Or reipen with bananas http://www.wikihow.com/Ripen-Green-Tomatoes:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME TODAY! I caught sight of a friend dropping something off on my doorstep on her way to the station so I said hello, saw she had a new haircut so - asked her in! so I could see it in the light - I KNEW the lounge would be tidy and roomy even though I hadn't been I there yet since I got up at 6:00 and it was an amazing feeling! Time was when even with 2 weeks warning I wouldn't have been able to ask anyone in!
Thanks guys! You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
