Last time dreamed of feathers was probably either when the cat was wafting its tail across my face as I slept or when a sparrow got in down the chimney.
Do you have birds, such as magpies, possibly perching and fluttering around on the guttering above your bedroom window?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Yes! We have magpies, collared doves and of course, many gulls fighting over the best seating areas.0

So now we know why we keep empty jam jars, large beer glasses and cake scrapers! Blame the catsYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0

I don't believe it! I have a Beans too! Aargh!
He's in the wardrobe. I never forgave a young friend for drawing a cross on his nose with felt tip pen. It's not very visible ... But he is definitely not being given to the charity shop.
This week, retidied the notice board (back of kitchen door), the pencil pot in the kitchen (never been done) and gave away two of the red velvet curtains I have been going to make something with for the last four years. And a very raggy cotton bedspread from my youth. That was the hardest one, actually, but I do feel so much better. I also removed two electric blankets from the upstairs cupboard and they are now on the beds. They also haven't been used for four years.
Why am I re-tidying cupboards that I've already done?
Still to come is the study. DH got rather testy when I said I'd make him help me tidy it so I'm going to have to try a different approach at a later date, when he's forgotten he was upset at the idea. The trouble is, he has lots of stuff in there which obviously doesn't need clearing out but is actually broken or hasn't been looked at in a while. However, I can't complain, as he went mad in the garage and it is now an echoing cavern compared to how it used to be.
Keep up the de-richarding!0 -
I've arrived at my sitting gig. It's a really beautiful home right out in the country. What strikes me though how classy it is. It's homely but has a few key pieces which you notice because there is no clutter! Also a full wall length book case! I have book case envy.
Just very simple and lovely.
Anyway, the kitchen is to die for and the size of my cottage! I have an aga, so also have aga envy! :rotfl:
and chickens...:D
Giving me lots of motivation for my place!
eta do you all notice when the stuff is gone, even with the most angst ridden decision making which took place, you completely forget about it?0 -
Hi all, not been doing much as new job is wiping me out physically and emotionally this week.
I have "rose-tinted spectable" syndrome when it come to things I have got rid of that were "perfect". On my birthday in June I wanted to wear a dress (rare occurence!) but couldn't find the particular one I wanted which looked fab so opted for a different dress thinking I must have charity shopped the other one.
Roll on a few months when I found said dress at bottom of wardrobe - brilliant! Last Friday, our anniversary, going out for dinner, perfect time to wear the newly rediscovered outfit, no? No - tried it on and looked in mirror and thought "urgh, why do I like this dress when it makes me look so frumpy?" So it's OUT! Going on eBay this weekend.
Hmm, makes me wonder what else I long for that I can't believe I have parted with that I am seeing in a sentimental way?0 -

I look at pics of me in the 80s and can't believe what I wore, it's horrible, but it was cutting edge fashion then. thankfully it is no longer in my wardrobe!
Take care of yourself, I hope you attain the perfect work/life balance soonest! You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Blossom I was watching the original terminator last night and spotted a tshirt I used to have :rotfl:oh the 80's were a blast fashionwise! *I'm still in love with Michael Beihn *
I have finally finished my recipe files :j shredded down all my cooking mags and sorted into neat folders ones I'll use.
