Blossom I was watching the original terminator last night and spotted a tshirt I used to have :rotfl:oh the 80's were a blast fashionwise! *I'm still in love with Michael Beihn *
I have finally finished my recipe files :j shredded down all my cooking mags and sorted into neat folders ones I'll use.
Taking some gardening mags to our meet for new homes
Are you going to the London meet?
Well done with the sorting! You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
What are you all up to today? I need some inspiration.
I am still just about wearing my summer clothes at the minute, so maybe I need to swap to an autumn (winter really) wardrobe. I have summer skirts I haven't worn for a couple of summers so maybe they can go now. Free up some coathangers. I ought to get my latest summer skirts mended. There are a couple of wear and tear rips on them.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

Still recovering from a bad fall on Thursday, but hoping I can get Dr Dragon to do some sorting of clothes later

I am in heaven with my aga and chickens I'm looking after.
Will pop home tomorrow and do some work there, but dropped off the table (now being sold for £10!) at the CS along with a load of books and some oddments.
edit, Dragon, poor you, hope you feel better soon. the last time I fell over I hurt both knees and it took me a while to recover. It's such a shock too isn't it?0 -

I went to a jumble sale today....
Didn't buy much though. Two plants for the garden, a couple of pounds of cooking apples (50p the bag), a cat carrier (got two already but now have a third cat of course so a third carrier is a good idea) and two pairs of nearly new hiking weight trainers for DD. No she doesn't normally wear second hand shoes but it's handy to have a spare pair for scout camping to wear round the campsite while your good pair of walking boots that cost mum an arm and a leg get a chance to dry out, you know?
I managed to resist a dog basket which the cats might have liked, a very aspirational set of jars for honey, marmalade and jam, a blouse which was absolutely lovely but I'd have to lose three stone to get into, a small table and some gardening books.
So that wasn't bad. Better than usual anyway when I'd have bought the lot!Val.0 -

Hi Whitewing
Bag everything up that you regard with the least suspicion. Be utterly ruthless. Put it all in the hall and then go back upstairs to look at your lovely clear wardrobe filled with clothes you actually like.
Doesn't that feel better? If not, throw away some more, including all the things you normally keep when you have a clear out. Then reward yourself with four squares of chocolate.0 -
I've been hanging my clothes in order of preference along the picture rail - made it easy to see which ones could go! Even if I have lost weight I still don't want to wear some of them, I now fit in Primark clothes so have thrown out 4 "quality" (eg old fogey) t-shirts and bought 2 cheap (21st century) ones from Primark and feel about 20 years younger for doing so
Jumble sale! Is it that time of year already? Where's the local paper? You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
I'm still too poorly to do much. 3rd week off work now over. But I did manage to thrown away an old pair of sandles this week: I did the LIR 'photo of bag' thing - except I just imagined showing you all a photo and then hear the chorus of '!!!!!! are you keeping those for':rotfl: (very scuffed with one strap broken so that I risk tripping over when wearing them... but I like the turquise colour:o) In the bin they finally went and have now left the house.
I have also washed and put away my linen trousers and shorts and 2 x summer dresses. Wardrobe nice and bare.I could do with a few new winter clothes but I hate clothes shopping so much.
Byatt - it amazes me how much i get over stuff I agonised abut getting rid of after a few days to never think about again. Love you getting rid of that table! Seems a hugely significan step to me freeing up space for the energy to move about your house freely (and I'm not really in to feng shui but that was the instant image that came to mind) Great to hear you enjoying the chickens.
Jo-jo - sounds horrible but you also sound a woman who can hold fast to what she knows is the truth.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
I have started sorting out a very, very small corner of the craft stuff......:(Val.0
