MisalignedHalo. I can't offer much advice especially given what others have said but I just wanted to send you bug hugs and to say you are doing a wonderful job being with her so far x

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)

We are many we are one xxx

So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.

I don't like ice cream straight from the freezer, prefer it softer.

I always microwave the big tubs for 30secs they come out perfect ready to eat straight away:T

I just want to apologise for being depressing before I start but I need to offload and I know this is the best place:A

For certain reasons I cannot give too many details but will try to explain best I can.

For the last week I have spent a lot of time in my local ITU sitting with a lady whom I have known for 15months. This is to do with my work although it does not normally involve hospitals and never situations like this :( The lady is only in her early 40's and through complications from a simple operation is now severely ill. Got told the weekend she is unresponsive and they think brain dead, although her heart is beating she is on a respirator. I have sat and talked, laughed and tried my best to be positive not knowing if she can hear anything I am saying:( I found out today that they will be turning the respirator off tomorrow and she will either die or breathe for herself but be faced with a life of 24hr care with no dignity:( . I know I should be more professional and it should not be affecting me this way but this is the first time I have been faced with such a sad situation. I don't know until the morning if I am expected to be there when it happens as she has no close family.
How will I be strong? I really don't think I can be :(

How sad this poor lady has no close family to be there with her. :( You have already been pretty strong being with her all this week, so even though you don't think you will cope tomorrow I'm sure you will find the strength from somewhere to be there for her. The lady and you are in my thoughts and prayers x
