A quick google found these but I'm pretty sure they could be got cheaper...

I seem to remember my dad making something like that out of some threaded rod and bits and pieces...

That looks cheap compared to a broken head :D

Ooooh hadn't thought of that :D:T:T:T

You better be ready for some serious sanding ( or get handy with a blow torch)

Chemical paint strippers like Nitromors are very handy for those awkward corners where neither sander or blow torch are effective ( goggles, mask and gloves )
Back to square one, no apg, no comment.

The new ones need priming, undercoating and then glossing, if you must cheat, use white emulsion as primer & undercoat, and 2 coats of gloss, don't forget the masking tape, and for the best finish caulk the edge where the skirt and wall meet each other.

Thanks for this I thought I'd done wrong, I had remembered reading it posted before (I think it was yourself then too) about using emulsion as a primer and as it would have taken ages to sand down the other existing skirting boards I already painted over them, now just waiting on some kind soul doing the gloss for me :D

I'm going away in 3 weeks time so going to throw some hints (basically along the lines of 'would you do the skirting boards for me please?') about needing it done to the guy housesitting for me, he doesn't take subtle hints so have to be very direct :rotfl:
