I prefer the highlighted.
I understand that you were asking a question and that it wasn't your suggestion....but I think it works well.
Price Promise? What Price Promise?

I went in to check Alan about 11.15 and he said he still wasn't up to going out but it was just as well, as by that time the heavens had opened and the rain was [STRIKE]stotting[/STRIKE] battering down. So he stayed in bed and not long after, about 11.45, the District Nurse came. We chatted about how he'd been and how the extra meds were helping and she stressed that he need not be in any pain, as meds can always be reviewed and increased to keep him pain free. She asked the Nurse who came with her to check Alan's blood pressure as we chatted but it came back very high:eek: Aln's has never had blood pressure problems other than being higher when first checked when he's got to have it done at surgery, but fine after 10 min wait I can't remember what it is called but it is quite common I think. Anyway, we chatted on and the D/Nurse checked it again later but it wouldn't take a reading which she felt was because it was still too high. So she is coming back to check it again and asked us to get the GP to check it when he comes. We couldn't make a date for her to come back as we are due up North next week and in Portsmouth the following week, but it is hard to plan from hour to hour, never mind day to day, or week to week, so I will ring to request a visit either when we get back, or next week if we don't get away
After the nurses left, Alan decided to stay in bed a while longer. He was feeling tired out but also getting down, probably due to nurses talking about what pain relief can be used when he gets worse which puts getting worse into your mind, plus with the blood pressure problem too. To buck him up I told him to 'pull himself together man' with a laugh and he laughed and said 'that is one thing you would never say to me, I know that'
He is staying in bed for now and I will check him about 1.30 for his tablets and see if he is getting up to have something to eat. It must be so hard for him when the inevitable looms in his mind, poor lamb, but he doesn't let it get to him too often. Keeping positive and having a laugh - that's the way to do itMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

yes, they outsourced their entire IT and management applications divisions to India in, I believe, 2008.
Article from the Economic Times:
"NEW DELHI: Tesco - the world's fourth largest retailer - plans to move hundreds of jobs to support its central European operations to India. The jobs will be shifted to its captive unit in Bangalore, Tesco Hindustan Service Centre (THSC), people familiar with the development said. It will help the company save costs and gain competitive edge over rivals.
The THSC carries out a host of technology and business-intensive projects to enhance the operations of the UK-based retail chain's stores worldwide. The centre, which was established in 2004 and has around 4,500 employees at present, provides IT services, finance, accounting, design, research and analytics services and processes the payrolls of thousands of Tesco employees globally."0 -
I want to pick the brains of the Elite now, a retired friend is thinking of selling her house ( I doubt she will) & wants to move into a flat, I'm thinking retirement flats, she is too fit & healthy for a care home.
I'm struggling for the names of some of these builders is one McCarthy & something ?
I want to give her some ideas how much she could expect to pay

My Grandma's in one. It's just like normal fairly upmarket flats but with red cords dangling everywhereBeware though, the residents behave worse than teenagers when they get together in the communal lounge. :eek:You have to buy the property and pay a service charge on top.

Back from the bike ride... rode in between the drops!
Really, I got lucky and stayed dry- but I had a surprise in store at T's
The trollies all cost £1:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: That really doesn't help wombling, and all the old dears are having a terrible time getting the coins back.
well, I found two LONG receipts and I am going to type them in just to see what comes out the other end- they had used clubcards, but the price poke website still let me type them in... will wait and see...0 -
An example of why Tesco makes me
http://www.tesco.com/groceries/ProductBuylist/default.aspx?id=L00005940&icid
There is no way that the peaches and nectarines were worth £3.39 before.
£1 should be the normal price!
You can get the same things from Aldi for 69p:

Tesco conning people to think they've come across a deal.
:eek::mad::mad::mad::mad::eek:
I have a T almost on my doorstep but Aldi is a few miles away so I won't waste the £2 or so on petrol getting there and back.
What an idiot. I had no idea the prices were so different. A melon for 69p compared with £2 at T, cherries at half the T (ridiculous) price, cheaper bananas and so on.
I don't buy a lot of processed food but do buy a lot of fresh fruit and veg so a twice weekly trip to Aldi will now be part of my routine.
Thanks Karlie - I hadn't realised how different the prices wereIf you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -
Just back from T's near the Big Brother house.
Plenty of price flop books just past the self service checkouts.
Chilled whoopsies packed high. Most seem to be 75% original price - reasonable for a lunchtime.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
