  • No worries bud...sorry for being sharp with you.

I'm not worried about the JTD thing at all.....as always T's will fail to implement it properly and one way or another we'll make good savings with it.

As regards DTD............I can't believe its laster this long! If they do can it though, they will have to seriously tighten u on their pricing interrity or trading standards will have a field day! Its my guess that Tesco currently view the losses through DTD as being less than what trading standards would hit them, not to mention the constant negative publicity. I could be way off the mark, but its just how I see it.

I hope you're right on both counts.

It all depends on how we get use to trying out the price promise over the next few weeks and also how it is handing them over on the checkouts with authorization for the same clubcard from wombled ones? or 8 items term..

I think DTD is getting hit hard atm from looking at the misprice thread on the main forum. I'm not having a go at anyone. I know I've been hitting it hard myself, but I have certain limits. i.e. wine 4 or 5 bottles max. I would never go crazy with 20 though.

I'm just a tad worried atm that it's the beginning of the end:eek::o:o
  • The way I see it is, they are no longer setting the standard, they are simply copying the competition. Capping the jtd at £10 like Sainsbobs and comparing receipts with 8 or more items like Asda. A mix of the two gives them their new version of jtd. A pretty poor offering really. I'm looking forward to their new ideas that follow this 'cos they look like they are running scared. In my experience, that's when mistakes happen so there should be some good times ahead for bargain hunters I think.

  • Contact CS you might get a nice gift card for all the trouble it has caused ;)

    I might do.

I feel sorry for anyone who did a planned jtd shop.

All those outages these last few months were them probably editing the system.

Shows how bad their IT department is. Best practice would be to trial the system and debug before making it live. Ts being as tight as they are have actually done the change over without the changes being complete and debuged. I have no idea who manages their IT systems implementation but they should be sacked. what's to bet they outsource it offshore. Costs less in money and gives less in service.

Actually I dont think DTD is getting hit as hard as it was. Remember the denby or the phones 6 months ago? There was numerous reports every day of peoples DTD's, now they are far more sporadic. T's did have a big email campaign to stores and I think that has to some degree worked. I pass many many stores and certainly dont find DTD's as often as I did. Now its just the odd shoddy store and super greedy MSE'er that makes us sit up and take notice.

A couple of people have got some got DTD refunds as a result of OOD SELs. In total you're talking about less that £1000.

Honestly this is nothing and there's no reason at all to think that Tesco are suffering at the moment with this policy.
