  • Actually I dont think DTD is getting hit as hard as it was. Remember the denby or the phones 6 months ago? There was numerous reports every day of peoples DTD's, now they are far more sporadic. T's did have a big email campaign to stores and I think that has to some degree worked. I pass many many stores and certainly dont find DTD's as often as I did. Now its just the odd shoddy store and super greedy MSE'er that makes us sit up and take notice.

I don't remember that:o but I only joined in December  OEP glitch :D

Agreed with the last comment. Does make me go :eek::eek::o

Lets hope DTD stays around for a few more years :)

Honestly this is nothing and there's no reason at all to think that Tesco are suffering at the moment with this policy.

I'm guessing you have some insider knowledge, do tell.

I think DTD will be revised once the jtd system has been finalised and settled. No other store offers DTD, Tesco are putting more staff on the shop floors so I would think that this is the next thing to be reviewed. I hold my hands up and admit I could be wrong, just a feeling given the way some staff react to giving dtd.

A couple of people have got some got DTD refunds as a result of OOD SELs. In total you're talking about less that £1000.

on a side note: anyone seen the new updated tesco app on the iPhone? looks rather impressive actually. Bet HC has :)

No inside knowledge here. But like FK and others I've been around for a while and you get to know when things are hitting a peak.

In the old days of R&R it became obvious that Tesco were getting taken for a ride by loads of people. So a change was inevitable.

Equally with the price check DTD, it quickly became clear that it wasn't a policy that Tesco could sustain.

And anyone who reads this thread will know that people on here were predicting some sort of a reaction from Tesco when the whole Chicago Town / Ben and Jerry's thing took off. So the recent change is no surprise.

As has already been said the situation with overcharge DTD is showing no sign at all of being a big problem for Tesco.

But what if you don't eat meat! This meat cannot be frozen! How much meat can you eat! What if you love pizza and ice cream!
Really? I've frozen sliced ham before, surely the pulled beef etc. should freeze ok?

Some one said it says keep refrigerated no mention of freezing? I've not bought any so only going by what others have said :) I too have frozen ham but only if it says its ok to freeze on the packet.

I have bought the pulled ham and the bacon pieces before and both froze fine and tasted exactly the same when I defrosted them. I use these for jacket potato fillings and they are both lovely

Just trying this now but having problems
There is a link in the email which says check your results online or one at top of email that says tesco price check
I have tried to cut and paste both in the browser nut neither workd
Do i have to enter my receipt details again ?

    help please

Your original price check email should look something like this:

View your results for Tesco Price Check
    Dear Customer,
Thanks again for submitting your receipt details online.
Your results are in! Click the link below to view your results online.
    View your results online

What you want to do is:

Right click on the blue line that says "view your results online" and select "copy shortcut".

Paste this into your browser's address bar,

replace both instances of the word "check" with "promise",

    then hit enter

If you can't get it to work then I suggest you just resubmit

I would have thought the exact opposite

More staff on shop floors should mean fewer misprices/OOD SELs. It should protect Ts from having to pay out too many DTDs and they could continue to offer the policy at a lower cost

But I see your point. With more staff to confirm prices are accurate then they might not have to rely on the existence DTD as a way of keeping Trading Standards from fining them.

    Hmm, could go either way

They'll probably just copy Asda again and offer a £2 giftcard
