    Good morning everyone.

Was supposed to be at the dentist this morning so got up to drop OH at work so I could have the car, and when I got back there was a message for me that the dentist was ill so could I call to rearrange my appointment... 17th April   I am really bad with dentists and had got myself worked up to go today (I haven't been for 3yrs  ) I guess I have another month and a bit to get scared in now... Unfortunately there's only 1 dentist who works at this practice so no chance of seeing anyone else... But what else can I expect? I guess I'm really lucky in that there's a dentist locally who is accepting new NHS patients...

Not much OS been going on here in the last few days, I have been working hard so I treated myself on friday night by going out to celebrate a colleagues 18th birthday... I'm not quite sure what happened but although I had drank a lot I suspect there was something more as the state I was in and the way I was behaving was not at all like how I usually act when I'm drunk... Was sick all weekend aswel, and I'm not one to suffer hangovers... Maybe it's my age (I am, after all, nearly 21) :rotfl: however the more I think about it and the more people tell me the things I was doing, the more convinced I am that something was put into my drink.

SO not much got done over the weekend and I've fallen a bit behind on my uni work so instead of the dentists I am going to work very very hard today... I have a journal to update and a PowerPoint presentation to put together, and an essay to research and plan so if anyone sees me on here please give me a kick in the you-know-where and shout at me :rotfl: I know how scary you can all be so please use it today if you spot me around!!! :rotfl:

    Have a good day everyone

(((hugs))) to those feeling poorly or down, especially CCStar, please look after yourself hun, your OH sounds like a real pig :(

    Love, Roz xxx

Edit to add: Kaz, you know you cannot leave us dangling with that little bit of bait... You can expect the Spanish Inquisition about your male friend next time you show your face around here :p

Bargain Rzl , I might know someone with a spare CD player, will ask. EDIT: sorry, have phoned them and it turned out they are getting rid of a little portable stereo because the CD player doesn't work! It has radio and tape but I guess that's no use to you.

BTW, were you at York University then? :)

  • hello everyone

funkyfairy i clicked on the link - didn't actually go into the site so I hope it counts.

hugs to everyone that needs one

    will see shamus later hopefully

well dh did his back in yesterday which is a major concern as ds1 and i are in wheelchairs and he does everything in the hiuse (well nearly)

we had a quick tea of bacon and tomarto sandwhiches.
dh managed to get ds1 ready for bed and ds1 watched a dvd in bed till 9pm so he was happy dd was in bedroom anyway (teenagers!!!)
i persuaded ds2 (aged 7)to watch tv in bed with me and dh so we were all in bed at 6.45 ds2 thiught it was a treat and trundled off to his own bed at 8pm

this morning dh back is slightly better but after getting boys dressed his back was puliing so i've sent him to his mums for day to be pampered with painkillers and hot water bottle because if he is at home there is always something for him to do. he will be back for the kids from school. i've got a flask of tea (can't reach the kettle and would be too heavy even if i could), the pc and internet access what more do i need. i can just about manage to make a sandwich for my dinner so i'm set up for the day. dh really worried about leaving me though mil only 10 min drive away so he can be back in no time if i need him.

plus hes caring for us 24/7 so it will do him good to have a break.

we went to the high school yesterday that the lea may suggest for ds1 and thay've said that they wouldn't cope with his physical needs. but we didn't want him to go there anyway so that works in our favour.

hope everyone has a good day xx

Absolutely full of the cold and feeling ropey - came home from work around lunchtime yesterday and still no better today, just off to Chemist to buy some menthol crystals. Really need to get back to work Thursday as I'm off on holiday to Egypt on Sunday and there's loads to do.

Hugs to all who need them today.:T

    Good morning all!

Well I survived yesterday! Travelled 200 miles London to Devon to 'phone Edinburgh about the tax situation! Spoke to a very pleasant young man with a strong Geordie accent who couldn't make head nor tail of it either!:rotfl: :rotfl: He's quite convinced the figures are wrong and that Dad can't possibly owe that much on such "meagre income" (his words not mine). He's taking the charge off for now and says he will flag it to be properly assessed at the end of the tax year. Dad appeared to be happy with that after he calmed down from the "let them take everything, I don't care!" attitude. I'm afraid I do find him emotionally draining. He's always been very "needy" and good at emotional blackmail, but now he's taken it to a new height since Mum died. But what can you do, he's my father, I may not like it but I love him:confused:

So today I'm rewarding myself with a lazy day. I know I didn't do housework yesterday, and I'm not doing any today either, so there:rotfl: :p Even DH left this morning saying I was to veg out today and not to worry about dinner, he'd see to it!:D For those of a MSE/OS disposition look away now.....this means he'll bring in M&S top range ready meals!!!!!!:T They don't contain any nasty "extras" just normal ingredients that you'd use at home. Expensive but nice as a treat.

I have read the thread but of course now I can barely remember anything! I must follow twinks good idea of jotting down people I particularly want to respond to.:o So I'll just send ((((((((hugs)))))))) to all who need one.

Hope all the sickies are beginning to feel better.

Oh and Kaz, more information required!!:rotfl: Don't even think of being enigmatic, we want the goss on the new man:cool: :D

Have a good day, one and all.

    Morning All,
Hope everyone is having a lovely happy day so far, its beautiful here but still very cold.
My DH's car alarm went off every hour last night and as we live in a cul-de-sac ( hate that word ! ) I think we managed to p*** off every one of our neighbours-to scared to show my face this morn, its all right for him he leaves for work at 7 !
Please someone tell me they watched the final episode of Fallen Angel last night ? None of my friends were watching it and I fell asleep near the end-really want to know what happened !
Donny-gal most things on here go over my head as a relative newbie but I quite like listening to everyones news anyway ! I find it hard to remember who said what but like responding to posts-I generally find no-one replys to me but I don't mind too much !
Got 2 babies today will be off to feed the ducks in a bit, my boys have football practise after school so I will probably cook dinner now so they aren't up too late-their bedtimes seems to have crept up later and later so about to put a stop to that ! might be the lighter evenings maybe ? Am very envious of you guys with the slow cookers that must make the evening meals a great deal easier.
My MIL died before christmas and DH is certain she had one a t the house although he is reluctant to take anything as he feels disrespectful. I understand how he feels but the house is being sold at the mo and it all has to go somewhere-I'm sure she would someone used rather than it get binned. I'll keep working on him.
    Have agreat day all.

You will love a slow cooker.

Hugs to everybody who could do with one especially, moggins, TM and Ccstar.

Just had a phone call to say that a survey on climate change I filled in last year for the university of York and had forgotten about had netted me £15 in Marks and Spencer vouchers - I had second prize!:j

Washing is on the line and dishwasher is churning away.

DH has meetings today so will not be hungry tonight which means making whatever I and three of my daughters fancy.

    Morning All!!!

Had a day off sick yesterday as had completely lost my voice by Monday evening. I sounded like a cross between Marge Simpson and Tara Palmer Tomkinson. Now have a stinking cold and am still quite hoarse. I'm also very breathless and tight chested but don't feel too bad in myself so am back at work today.

It's so beautiful out there, all I want to do is get out into the garden, will pop home home to hang out some washing in a mo.

Spoke to EDF energy this morning as they want to increase my DD again from £70 to £90 per month. We only live in a terraced cottage!!! The heating is on 2 hours am and an hour in the evening. The last two bills have been estimated however and I gave them an up to date reading which knocked 1000 units off the bill!!! I will find out how much the new bill is tommorrow but they were hopeful that the £180 I apparently owe would be knocked off, I'm not so hopeful however...

Anyway hugs to all in need especially CCStar.
Kaz - I'm so glad your DS enjoyed himself, now tell us about your new man!:D

Dinner tonight will be a bit hit and miss, DS and nephew are being used as market research for Sony, they have to play games for an hour and a half, answer some questions and they get £25 pounds for it!! Will pick some thing up on the way home methinks. Such a busy week this week, out tonight, DD has party tomorrow evening, DH is out mountain biking Friday, drinking Friday night. Another party on Saturday night for DH and I then Mum etc over for lunch on Sunday!! Will be glad to get to work on Monday for a rest.

This is a very long post, sorry.

    Enjoy your day all!!

    Hi

I don't feel like doing anything today.

Sorry it is so negative - it is all getting me down, nothing happening on the house and OH being a pig

Hi CCStar, I just want to say don`t ever be sorry and if you don`t feel like doing anything today then don`t. I replied as you sound so down and just wanted to give you some support.
    Love and hugs mandymoo xx
