How would I have beaten that? By bidding earlier and by 1p more?
Yes that what I was trying to convey...... A slightly earlier bid with slightly higher price and it would have been yours /mine !!!! Some times its a penny or two
Yes it would have been yours !....I have won by a couple of pence before but not by leaving it to the last minute....more of putting my final bid in earlier and then watch the difference nibbled away. !!!!
Sorry ma, I thought you were asking too
You know what? I'm going to bid :-
A) What it's worthWhat it's not worth to most people but maybe a quid over my usual bid, if I really want the item. Or ....
C) Give up eBay
It's only by asking, and looking back at the bids, that I realised my bids were a bit out of kilter0 -
Tojo_Ralph wrote:She's outbidding everyone and buying to sell?
Where on earth is she selling it?
Back on eBay for at least twice the price
I'd do it myself Tojo but I'm not ready to sell. And even though they're quality goods being resold and resold again, I'd rather do without and try from source
Now save me from myself. I'm about to outdo the highest offer (about £40 now lol, I'm such a cheapskate) but it kinda makes a set if you know what I mean?
Still bid max and bid late? I'd hate it if people thought I'd sniped :(but it's tempting)
I might try and nibble first lol0 -
I bid on my first ever item the other day on Ebay on behalf of someone else and they gave me a limit and that was it but I didn't go to it, I just went up like the minimum each time. What happened, in the last seconds of the auction some turd got it for a £1 more than I bid. GGRRRRR!!!!“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. I've used an auction sniping tool called "sniper-magic" you can get a free 10 day trial of it from here:http://snipermagic.martyn.net/
works for me!

Tojo_Ralph wrote:AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH ..... She only outbids you because her bid is higher than yours ..... It's sooooooooooo simple
..... No software, hardware, shareware or underwear for that matter can beat your bid if it is the highest bid.
It doesn't matter if the bid is a proxy, a manual snipe or an auto snipe from one of dozens of sites..... the highest bid wins ........................ AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
(insert the ... runs screaming from the building icon)
You've taken the words right out of my mouth!!!!!
I often look at bidding lists and it cracks me up to see 3 or 4 bidders continually trying to outbid each other when the auction still has hours or even days to go
I never place a bid until the dying seconds, and always place just the one bid which is the maximum price I am prepared to pay for that item, having first researched it's value, and if I win it (more often than not I do) then great, but if not then obviously someone else wanted it more than me and was prepared to pay more so good luck to them"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Not necessarily. You can only see their bid that won at the amount that was just an increment higher than yours.
I lost out on something the other day, seemingly by only 50p However, they could just as easily have had hundreds of pounds on it, the only amount that would show up as them having bid, is the amount just higher enough than mine to win.
I may well be the only person to understan what I just typed0
