Hi All
I'm looking for a new shopping experience. I am from London so nothing here I want to see. I want to go further afield. It has to be somewhere within about 2.5hrs of london & once I get thier would need it to be very close to the train station.
Looking for Shopping centre type places or places with a large high street shopping area. Essential shops would be one's like Primark, Hennes, New Look, Office, Dorothy Perkins - those types which are larger branches - not into designer stuff!! If thier was a market nearby that would be great as well.:)
I go to Birmingham fairly regularly so wouldn't want to go thier - but somewhere like that would be ideal. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Cardiff, huge shopping centre not far from stationVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

Manchester's slightly over 2 hours on a direct train, and everything's within walking distance of Piccadilly station. (Unless you wanted to go to the Trafford Centre, but that would be daft as the Trafford Centre is actual hell!). There are tons of places you can get to within 2.5 hours - Liverpool, Leeds and Sheffield are just over 2 hours, York is just under 2 hours, etc. If money on the travelling is no object, I'd say just pick a city at random and go see if it takes your fancy.0

How about Gunwharf Quays?
Right next to Portsmouth Harbour station.
Read their brochure or wave your mouse pointer over their interactive map to decide whether the shops are suitable for you.0 -
Maybe a bit close to home (only half an hour from Paddington) but what about Reading ? It's a while since I've been there but as well as the usual high street stores you have the Oracle centre

all within easy walking distance of the station0 -
Nottingham? About an hour and a half out of St Pancras, and I love it there. Broadmarsh not too far from train station and some fab shops (love love love the new flagship New Look store - if you're looking for a big store bingo

Don't send anyone to Broadmarsh - it's chav hell! Otherwise, yes, I agree - Nottingham is ace for shopping, and all very central.0 -
If you're looking for chain stores (Primark, DP etc), they're not really any different nationwide! Not much point travelling a couple of hours to go to them to be honest.
Shopping centres across the country are pretty generic. Go to a new town and visit the local independent shops instead.

:rotfl:I only ever cut through it on my way somewhere else or I might occasionally stop at Boots or Wilkos if I need to. But yeah - agreed
