May be there is an initial delay from when you first setup and sync the card, so be warned.

Does this only work at some shops? Went to my local Tesco Extra, loaded the Foursquare app, but no deal was visible. I checked-in and did a £10 shop anyway, but nothing happened. Is it possible it doesn't work at every shop in the chain?

I know, but the website still shows the Amex deals as nice orange blobs and I can click on them to find out what the deal is (just can't use it).

Are you sure you have enabled GPS /A-GPS on your phone. ?. your phones has to know where your location to display the map and show the offers/specials

Good call. I will double check. The 4sq android app seems to know where I am but that could be via the mobile cell and not GPS.

Does anyone see the "load to the card" option showing on the app as it says in the Amex website? I've just checked in and seen the special is unlocked but "no load to card" option?

I do not see a "load to card" option either.
In my Nokia (Symbian) , this is the sequence of button clicks

a) First you click "30 specials nearby" bar in orange color on the main 4sq app page.
b)Then the next page will displays items with a special orange icon, so click on the one you want.
c) The next page will display a "check in here" and then a page comes with "check-in" and finally, the last page displays "tap to redeem" in blue. (So make sure you get there and don't forget to click tap to redeem !)

The final confirmation page displays a 'lock icon' along with the details of the offer and says congrats you have unlocked this special

Gosh! That was difficult to explain now I forget when I am getting a tenner back from Amex !:rotfl:

thanks! that's the process i've followed, no cashback yet but fingers crossed. Not great that amex have not defined the process clearly to users, all very confusing.... but as amex say, they make the impossible possible, or is it the other way round

So I popped in to Primark, checked-in using the app on my iPhone, I got a message saying I'd 'Unlocked a Newbie Badge', as it was the first time I'd used the app. But then I didn't go through with the sale because they didn't have my size. Does anyone know if that's used up the 'one time' offer because I wasn't able to finish the transaction this time? Thanks.

I think it's not all the branches of the chain have the offer. Better to ask foursquare why that is the case.

Good afternoon, I am very confused as the literatures have not been very clear, is my understanding correct that you can get this offer per statement period once per brand? Or just one offer per statement period? Many thanks.
