Jackson's of Picadilly's green tea with mint is the best, but I can't get it anymore. I saw it on Amazon for over 7 pounds for 20 bags! I never paid anything like that for it when I could buy it from a shop - just can't seem to get it anywhere now though. :(

My mistake - it's over 8 pounds on there! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jacksons-Piccadilly-Green-Tea-Mint/dp/B004AVGB5S

I tried green tea a few years ago..... I wanted to stop taking milk/dairy, but I only liked black tea with milk...... and although I didn't like the taste much, persisted due to it's purported many health benefits, and that I could drink it minus milk!

Then I discovered Clipper White Organic tea.....with an even better health profile, but a much mider taste!!! You can buy this in most supermarkets, as well as health food shops.

I've now been drinking it....straight ie. no milk or sweeteners....for a couple of years, drink several large mugs per day and LOVE it!!!

I was given a tip once, only leave the tea bag in for barely 30-60 secs, and as someone else has said don't use boiling water. I can't say I've quite got it down yet but getting better - it's definitely a lot less bitter. I do like the green tea with jasmine they serve in japanese restaurants - that isn't bitter but more like very lightly fragranced/flavoured hot water.
No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

  • I find green tea is very moreish once you get a taste for it - it has a dryness that makes me want to have another cup, and another...
  • ... and if you want a refill in a Chinese restaurant, just invert the lid on the teapot

OP, if you're still thinking about whether to try green tea, I noticed my Asda had 'taster' packets available from Tetley. They contained about a dozen tea bags of six different types, which included 3 different green teas.

I never drink black tea any more. Once you have a taste for green tea, ordinary tea is vile. I drink it without sugar or sweeteners and absolutely never with milk.

My favourite is Tekanne Zen Chai. My husband travels frequently in Europe and he brings it back for me as I have never seen it in this country.

I love green tea, Lidl do nice ones. I like the Lord Nelson one with vanilla, it's very sweet so I have it in the afternoon and it usually kills my chocolate cravings, so it's win win!!

This is definitely still sold in Tescos and Sainsburys for £1,50 a box! I buy a box approximately every two weeks from one of them.
