Anyone tried Green Tea?

Hi, I have been reading about the benefits of drinking green tea and all sounds good. Has anyone on this forum tried it and what do you think? I am interested in the fact it helps with your metabolism. If you have tried it, do you have a favourite and do I need to buy it from a health shop or do supermarkets sell this? Any info would be much appreciated - thank you

I've tried it, I don't like the taste. However my colleague at work drinks huge mugs of it. And yes, you can buy it at the supermarket, there are many different brands now.
I've heard about the metabolism thing but cannot vouch for it.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I must say it tastes quite different from ordinary tea. An acquired taste, I think

I think the difference between the two is that green tea has not been oxidised, whereas black tea has.
The best quality green tea is probably the japanese Sencha (Clearspring make it) which has a very 'clean' taste, but I think PG also do just a standard teabag one.
It tends to be drunk without milk, though I do know someone who puts milk in it! You can also sweeten it with honey, or sugar, just as you would ordinary tea.0 -
It's pretty rank. I want to like it, but it's just minging. I keep buying it, drinking one or two mugs and giving the rest away.0

Just to be different, can't stand ordinary tea but love green tea. Only supermarket stuff, but I like the plain and the citrus flavoured one. Best to drink when cooled a bit. Very refreshing especially in the heat (when we had it!)0

Green tea with lotus flower and 1 sweetner is lovely
(bit blah without the sweetner!) 0 -
I discovered i liked green tea with mint this year. Twinings do one. I also find that honey often tastes nicer in green tea than sugar/sweetner. A lot of people don't tend to have milk in green tea, and yes a lot of supermarkets do sell it and I find that like normal tea different brands vary in quality/taste.0

I think it's absolutely rank too. I reckon you could make your own out of privet hedge clippings.
Unfortunately, my wife and I work with a lot of Chinese people and they think it makes a good gift.0 -
I buy the Lemon green teabags and prefer it cold as a refreshing Summer drink.0

There's loads of types of green tea so it's worth experimenting with different ones. I find it's best to make them with water that hasn't quite boiled - the flavour is softer, less harsh.0

I'll drink normal tea but it's got to be weak and black, but I much prefer green tea, either plain or with peppermint or lemon. Maybe it's because I have always taken my normal tea with no milk in it that I prefer the green tea. I think if your a person that likes milk in their tea then I don't think you're going to like green tea very much.0
