The sausage casserole recipe is on my other menu planner post no 27.
I think a couple of people said they didn't like having tomato in it and using veggie stock and some gravy granules should be fine. I just bung it all in the slow cooker these days. Turns out fine. And it is nice with dumplings. I think I linked to a recipe for dumplings on that thread too.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
I made Delia's roast tomato soup last year for my OH for a Valentine's meal starter, as tomato soup was originally translated as love apple soup. It is really yummy, but quite fiddly to make.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

I didn't know that. Very romantic! It really is delicious. Delia doesn't mess about does she! She knows her stuff. I will certainly be making it again. I still had half last week's tomatoes though so next time I'd need to buy a few extra I think. I may make a huge batch to freeze down.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Made the creamy broccoli pasta last night - well actually it turned out to be creamy cauli pasta (as I had a cauli to use up) and I added the salmon. DH and DS thought it was really yummy so thanks for the idea.
Tonight I am going to make the galette (finally). I have both gammon and salmon, and can't decide which I should use in it. Any suggestions on whether you think salmon would work and what would be the best flavour? I thought if I used the gammon, then I could serve it with baked beans as I presume the flavours might enhance each other. Any advice would be appreciated from the galette experts.
I'm getting really fed up with salmon - I was at a food festival on Sunday and towards the end they were selling off packs of Spinks salmon at £1 per pack and I bought 5 of them - couldn't resist the bargain.0 -
Hi there - can I ask a quick question on the bean burgers ?
I am planning to make them tonight but I only have 1 tin of kidney beans in - would a tin of broad beans do as the second tin needed ? I want to try to avoid Tesco's if possible:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Yes, I think that would be fine (although I don't think I've ever cooked with broad beans.) Troll's original recipe only had one tin in. I'll try to find a linkMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Hi Gingham!!
Just wanted to ask...I made the Cabbage Gallette the other day, whilst it was nice, mine was abit dry - should I have made the mixture abit sloppier to cover the cabbage or added something else - or is that how it is supposed to be? and you have some gravy with it?0 -
Hi
Thanks for a great thread
The slow-cooker curry recipe looks so nice, I really want to try it, but don't have a slow-cooker. Any suggestions for doing it in the absence of a slow-cooker?
Thanks

The gallete is a bit like a dumpling with a crust on - neither dry nor moist particularly. Maybe you need to cook it for a slightly shorter time or add a touch more milk. The mixture is certainly not dough when I make it - more like thick batter.
The slow cooker curry is fine in a pan. For quickness, steam or boil the veg to go in it while sweating an onion, then add everything together and let the sauce reduce a little.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
