It's called bookers, that seems like a good deal though, i'm stuck using persil non-bio as anthing else makes my youngest daughter itch really bad, she has super sensitive skin.

NSD today, bringing me to three for the month so far, which isn't too bad at all! Spent a chunk of last night with my spreadsheet out, getting a headache and trying to squeeze some extra pennies out of the budget.

HM pizza tonight..will make it a little healthier by putting black olives and anchovies on top :p

Really want to go baking today but am not allowing myself cake and things so it would either go stale or get eaten, both options that would make me mad at myself lol

Spend of £1.35 today. OH bought me a 2litre bottle of Pepsi Max and a litre bottle of water.

Yesterday he came home with some pasties, chicken wings, and chicken thighs that he got FOC from work. Today he brought me a chicken sandwich which I had for lunch and then a whole rotisserie chicken so instead of cooking the chicken I bought at Mr S yesterday am going to put it in the freezer and we will have the rotisserie one as well. Am quite enjoying OH's new job, it's definitely helping with the food budget as we keep getting free food lol. x

That will be fine...I would tend to use cling film first then foil but both will be OK.

I would like to do spreadsheets for my GC budgets but have no experience of Excel. Is there anywhere I can go for a quick and easy guide? If I get competent maybe I can start doing all my budgets on there?

Keeping an eye on the little spends are a real eye opener. It's mad when at work, for example, I see people going out for lunch and call my tinned spag and jacket pot extreme poverty(!), I wonder where they get all the cash from.

If they have a money tree, maybe JJ can help me forage for one?!

I am pleased with my efforts so far, and am enjoying myself. My OH has taken up golf, so I could do with making the pounds stretch!

It's not that we are struggling like a lot of people out there who I really feel for, it's just that we need to keep an eye to stay on track and be able to afford things like golf!!

Me too! I always feel like that. I've had an itch to make some scones to go with my hm jam for a while now, but I know I'd be mad at myself, just like you've explained!! Really want to though!! I made myself feel better by making a sausage plait and some cheese and bacon puffs, using hm puff pastry (I've always been lazy before - hm is so much nicer than the packets!!)

Nice! Sometimes it's the perks of a job that make it, iykwim. I have that, with fruits. I work in a school, and some stuff would be binned at the end of the week, so we're allowed to take it to save that. I get carrots, tomatoes, satsumas, bananas, apples, pears... Some weeks I don't even have to buy fruit, or some weeks, I use it to make chutneys and jams! :)

:rotfl::rotfl:I'd like to forage for the money tree too!! I can't help with the spreadsheet, because I'd have to be with you to show you how to do it!! I think there's one on the front page though. I'm sure someone more clever than me will come along and sort you out!

I completely agree with you about your last paragraph. I try and save money by being frugal wherever I can. so I can afford little luxuries, like days out with my children, or spending money for a holiday I've been saving for for ages. Or the holiday, for that matter!!!;)
