Well, been to Home Bar*gains & done my 3 month stock up of loo rolls etc - now up to £44.22 / £160 (a wee pizza did sneak it's way in there .... I'm on my hols so treated myself on Sat night!).
I have also spent £9.99 from Oct's (next stock up) budget - this was stuff bought on fantastic offers that won't be needed until next the next 1/4.
I wish I'd done this at the start of the year - as I managed to get all my WM liquid, fabric conditioner and nearly all my household cleaning bits in the 1st 1/4 which probably accounts for quite a bit of the overspend from then!:p
Still - something learned & will do next year!:cool:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Hi everyone, still trying to keep to spending only £10 a week and so far so good, mind you the freezer is starting to look empty and the pantry is slowly going down - but it feels good:)
I reckon I can keep going on £10 a week for the next few weeks, but eventually I will have to put it up a bit when the food runs out, and then I will scouring the aisles for reduced stuff and eating home grown vggies I hope:)
Tea in - mash, fish in sauce and mixed veg followed by fruit and yogurt, not very exciting but I like it
See ya

Hi everyone,;)
I would be very grateful if you could put me down for £250 for July 2012, please. This will begin on Wednesday, July 4th. I went almost £100 over my June challenge:eek: of £200, so feel the need to go for £250 this month. Having said that, June was my first ever challenge, so I suppose it was bound to go wrong. However, I would love to come in under budget in July.:rotfl: Wish I could go to the market to buy the fresh meat, but am disabled, so depend on online shopping, and bits & bobs from Budgens & Co-op when I run short.:(
I shall try to sort out a meal-plan for the coming week, and do my shopping list prior to the online shop.
Good Luck to all for July challenge,:)
Regards,

Had planned to have chicken & cheese puff pastry ring for tea, but DS1 has asked if a friend can come for tea and I'm pretty sure it's the friend who hates cheese......:(
How do you make this please?! Sounds like something we'd like.nannygladys wrote: »Tea in - mash, fish in sauce and mixed veg followed by fruit and yogurt, not very exciting but I like it

Well I have a huge tesco shop being delivered any minute now which is costing about £275 of my £325 budget  That's ok I thought as it has everything we need for the month except fresh things like milk, bread, veg, fruit etc.... Except that I already thought og 5 things I forgot to order  Oh well I should still be on target....
Any tips for how to lay off my milk man? I think we could sae about £100 per year if we stop having milk delivered but I feel bad telling him as it's his job.....1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

OK, this is what happens when you don't read for a couple of days - 10 pages of posts! Can't remember who said what now after skimming through them all, except love the rose petal jelly jumblejack! Oh, and to whoever's not sure about the cost-effectiveness of making jam - I find it's generally more expensive than shop bought, but I still make it because NOTHING beats the taste of HM raspberry jam. And I give jars of jams/chutneys as Christmas pressies
if you want to keep the costs down, home grown/foraged/reduced/frozen fruit are all cheaper, and you can also make apple/pear jams as these are MUCH cheaper than berries.
Spent £31.80 yesterday at an extremely fancy Mr M's (not the one I usually go to) which had the biggest selection of fruit and veg I've ever seen in a SM - soooo tempting! But managed to resist spending too much as we're away at the weekend - only spent half what we generally do for a weekly shop but it should be plenty. Also bought some coke at my local Mr T express as it's still on offer and the OH just goes through it SO quickly.
Had very tasty salmon last night on a bed of sweetcorn, both dressed in a caper/red wine vinegar dressing, and with salad and potato salad - SO delicious though OH didn't like it as he's not keen on fish, still ate it all though so can't have been too terrible! And I felt very bad he hated it so made apple crumble with ice cream for dessert after :rotfl:Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018
