NSD for me today. Dinner was sourced from stock, spag bol. I'm having freezer fallout for dinner tomorrow. It happens to be a ys ready meal of tandoori chicken, which was the same size as the cocktail sausages I wanted to freeze, so a fair swap, although still as much in the freezer!! I MUST BUY LESS STUFF!!!!

May have to go to sains tom, to get some more work trousers, as I have wrecked two pairs in the last two weeks! Hmm... Really want a gc nsd though, so will have to try not to even look. It's not as though I need anything!!

I avoid kerb sides (dog piddle) and busy road sides (exhaust emissions) too. I'm sure ther must be a public right of way lane somewhere not too far.

Those kind of places are gold mines!!!

Thanks - that's what I thought. There isn't anywhere like that I am aware of (I'm in quite a built up area), but I'll have a meander around my area to see if there is anything.

I MUST stay out of the sm's!!!

I went with a collegue at lunch time today and spent £10 on bl**dy shampoo!! Mr T has an offer on J8hn Fr*da 3 for £10 so I had a shampoo (usual cost £5) condtioner (usual cost £5) and a new heat treatment spray (usual cost £7) so yes a great 'deal' except I DIDNT NEED IT!!! And I would have never have paid those full prices anyway

Im angry at myself for slipping into old habits :(

On the BM we dont have one OH does it all by hand- its really nice but does seem alot of 'faff' we have a bread starter that lives in the fridge and has to be fed!! I think it is instead of yeast or it is yeast?

Anyone guess im no cook :rotfl:

Hi, could I join in? I have lurked for a while, but really need to control our expenditure. We are 2 adults, two teenagers who are eating like horses, 2 dogs (one large and one small) and one cat. I am going to start with £ 350 ( including all pet food and toiletries) and take it from there.

Can anyone tell me how to highlight the above figure in red?

    Thanks

    It was me!:D

Thanks for the Bluegreen hadn't thought of giving them as pressies! :D

My fruit will be free (just time spent picking it in the woods!) so hopefully that'll keep the costs down a bit!:T

Glad I could help! I love giving food hampers as gifts, they're always really appreciated. I'll give say two different jams, two different chutneys, something else like chilli oil or marmalade, some HM tablet and some bought oatcakes to finish it off as a nice hamper. You'll really save on costs if using foraged fruit - I need to start doing that!! I tried to grow strawbs this year but bought the root things from Wilko and they didn't grow

Think I have worked out how to post images, so this is my lovely salmon dinner from last night (tonight's mac & cheese just didn't look exciting enough to post!). SO good, I am definitely making it again :D

Please may I join? Will be setting a target of £200 for this month and that's for two adults, as my budget when bubs is here including nappies, wipes, formula etc will be £300 so want to try to cut back where I can now :)

We've not done a food shop for July yet, it's a case of eating what is in as I'm currently bed bound :( so 2 nsd's here already. OH brought me a bacon baguette home from work which was overstock and so didn't cost anything and then I had some weetabix for lunch and tea was made from what was in - some corned beef crispbakes and chips.

Hoping I will be well enough to go shopping tomorrow or Wednesday, going to go to Aldi as still have the voucher from the Mirror to spend :) x

Feeling a bit better about the kitchen now - it was in a bit of a state earlier!! I have some redcurrants and some lemons, so my plan is to make some redcurrant jam and some lemon curd. Cba to do it now, so I'll aim to do it tomorrow evening, which should be the reason I need to keep out of the shops!!

Still not made a meal plan for the week, even after printing off some nice planning sheets...!! Typical me - likes to get organised, but doesn't like to actually do!! Hope I'm not the only one like that! Oh weel, I know what I'm eating tomorrow, and that's out of the freezer ready, and the space from that has already been filled with some cocktail sausages ready for picnics in the summer hols. Really need to make a plan, to start using up the stuff I have! Sms must be laughing at me so much, for storing so much stuff for them!

We're cycling to l!dl on Saturday to do our shopping, as an experiment to see if the children can cycle that far. I've bribed them with sweets/choc to go. That'll cost me about £1, but I'll take it from ents, as the cycle ride will take a while, and if we'd gone to the park or somewhere, I'd have prob got them an icecream. Anyway, so far my list is: fruit (2/3 lots), veg (carrots), dishwasher tablets, milk, and maybe squash. I shall take a £20 note, so I can't be tempted to spend any more than that; hope the weekend deals will be rubbish this week!! (Need loo rolls too, but like the farmf00ds ones; may go there later in the day/Sunday)

Will be doing lots of supply work until the end of term, so extra money; will think very carefully about what to do with it - I'll transfer it straight to my savings, so it doesn't get lost in the abyss of the main account!!

Good money news today, which I wanted to share - my mortgage is now under £130k!! I'm so excited!

    Night all,

    PG x

ps - just had a crust of bread with my raspberry jam on - diiiiiivine!!!
